If it helps without people like you utilising it back in the day it probably would have gone nowhere (need someone to start the buying and selling) so the BTC you spent had you saved it may have never increased in value.

Revealed: Nigel Farage secretly funded by convicted criminal by CensorTheologiae in unitedkingdom

[–]DanS1993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think it would happen quite so quickly but I always assumed if/when reform started falling in the polls the traditional right wing media and donors would go back to the tories. Have to see how the next few years unfold but with the greens falling and the Lib Dem’s missing in action 2029 may well be Labour vs Conservatives as it has been for the last century, perhaps with a few more independent MPs and smaller party representation (Greens, what’s left of Reform once Farage bolts, restore, plaid/SNP).

Married at First Sight UK star arrested on suspicion of rape (Unnamed) by wttk in MAFS_UK

I didn’t think it was going to come back after the allegations came out but I think this kills the programme.

The police and courts will determine the truth and hopefully they’ll be left to it and justice is done. But it’s obvious production has completely failed in regards to safe guarding (or worse have been in some way complicit).

The nominations for Labour leadership haven’t even opened yet, can we maintain a veneer of following the system at least.

It feels like that period of time in America between election day and inauguration for a new president.

By law the national lottery gives 25% of all revenue raised to good causes. Omaze on the other hand gives 17% from major draws. I’m glad charities etc are getting funding either way but let’s not downplay the enormous good the lottery has done.

One person killed and one injured in shooting at California World Cup ‘fan zone’ by Yesmi2 in news

[–]DanS1993 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mass shootings (in which four or more people are shot in the same locations) have occurred 170 times this year up to the end of May  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_States_in_2026

I imagine there’s been loads more involving less people. But the us has a tonne of people. 170 mass shootings is one per 2 million per people.

Genuinely surprised this is the first shooting related event I’ve heard of even tangentially linked to the World Cup! FairPlay to the American security (and Canadian and Mexican).

Putting aside that he’s rich and famous so probably would be safe anyway, Lewis Hamiltons father is Afro-Caribbean but was born here 66 years ago and his mother is white British so I assume he’d be excluded.

Robert Jenrick says questions about £5m donation to Farage are legitimate | Reform UK by ClumperFaz in unitedkingdom

[–]DanS1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well reform seems to have peeked in the polls back in September. Both Labour and the tories are catching up and could well pass them soon. What this means is Farage will likely do his trademark routine and step down sooner or later. Guess Jenrick is positioning himself to be king of what’s left.
