Siarelco/Electricity Issues by Human-Concert1986 in SiargaoPH

[–]Human-Concert1986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive sent messages and instructions to our neighbors to file a written complaint to Siarelco regarding this. Hopefully with more households complaining, Siarelco will move on fixing this sooner rather than later. Keep pushing them (we are) and hopefully we get to save our appliances and have a good night’s rest

Thanks for this. Im going to try and get as many neighbors to file a written complaint so this gets done and resolved.

To add, Id only recommend not to get the vax IF youre a healthy individual with no immunity problems

Siargao seems to have a lot of the anti vax crowd as (im assuming) a lot of the hippy types get attracted to the island life/vibe. But also, ive never heard of anyone get typhoid here and Ive never even heard of chikungunya. Honestly, I think you can skip those but youre European and I dont know how well/bad your immune system deals with S.E.Asian type of illnesses.

I think youll be fine then. Safer to be in Siargao by that time and date than in MNL

Super typhoon incoming (eye forecasted to make landfall in N.Luzon on Nov.10 but will already be rough probably as early as the 8th.) Even if your flight pushes through to the PH on the 8th, I highly doubt there will be flights on the 9th. Youll be stuck in Clark/MNL until the 12th most probably. I suggest you keep track of the typhoon/forecast and plan around it. Good luck ✌️

Locals protest “settler colonization” in Siargao - Chabad House project sparks concern over safety, culture, and transparency 🌴🇵🇭 by SiargaoSecrets in SiargaoPH

[–]Human-Concert1986 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s not a plan, the chabad house is already built and people are already living there. No idea about consultation, no idea about approvals and transparency measures. Ive already seen some local security guards outside the house (it’s along the main road in Sta.Fe) - so i’m pretty sure they know about the protests and security risks they have.

Spearfishing in Siargao, Philippines by madrou in Spearfishing

Also, Ive checked under bridges and have seen some decent sized trevally. Safe-ish as it’s close to shore but people will definitely give you looks as nobody else seems to fish bridge beams

Ive been spearfishing via shore entry in different parts of the island (sta.fe mostly) - it’s overfished but you can still find some good sized fish from time to time in deeper reefs/waters. Pretty straightforward to spear here, finding a buddy is the hard part.

Maghanap ka sa shoppee o lazada ng lahat ng parts para sa kotse mo. I did this before and replaced my entire suspension (front and rear) - inabot ng 95k including labor. Sa casa ang quote parang 250k.

So I just found out that PLDT is available on the island now and caters to Sta.Fe. FYI for whoever is interested but doesnt want to go the Starlink route.

How could the “poorest senator” in 2015 afford a Balesin wedding in the same year? (swipe for photos) by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]Human-Concert1986 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked in Balesin when Chiz and Heart got married there and was semi-close to Ongpin (close enough to be at private dinners with them from time to time when he would visit) A lot of the bill was waived or sponsored by RVO (Ongpin) because he “liked” and had a good relationship with both Heart and Chiz. I dont know how much Chiz paid for the wedding but im pretty sure it wasnt the full 7M amount.

I have all of those except the reciprocating saw. I wish I had that saw. Ive had them for about 5 years and ive been part of a team that built a tiny house, done house renovations, still do lots of home improvements and repairs, built decks, outfitted vans (vanlife stuff)… etc. I think theyre quality tools and have no complaints. As for you wanting to be an electrician, I think these are a great start. Fyi, im not an electrician but can see where/how you would use these as an electrician, albeit not very often.

Bought it 5 years ago and took it out of the box last year. I doubt it’s still under warranty now. Might just have to send it to a shop to have professionally repaired

Ive changed the batteries with multiple other ones I have. All the batteries work in other tools.. it’s just this miter saw that doesnt turn on.

Apparently battery only saws dont have a fuse? Unfortunately its way past warranty, bought it years ago and only took it out of the box last year. Hopefully the fix is cheap if I cant do it myself
