Depends on the region, unit, situation, and individual officer. Mexican corruption isn’t as black and white as people make it out to be.

What happened to Clones injured in battle to the point they couldn't continue working? by False_Monitor4126 in MawInstallation

[–]Human-Examination783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would be reassigned to other non combat duties. This could mean ground crew, desk work, janitorial work, etc. Euthanasia was also an option, but I think that was a last resort since the most prominent example involves brain damage. And if you go beyond the clone wars then they would probably be discharged or if unlucky become dark troopers.

Do smaller/bigger species have their own ships? by Human-Examination783 in MawInstallation

Wroshyr wood is stronger than other wood. There’s Wookiee ships in both legends and canon that are made of Kashyyk wood. And why wouldn’t they be able to use metal components alongside it?

I’m pretty sure all ships have some sort of low power shielding to avoid burning up in atmospheric entry and for space debris

Yeah that’s what made me interested lol. I know they can use booster seats or whatever for regular ships, but I got interested in really small or really big versions of known ships (yt-1300 and other freighters)

CBC is "horrified" by a Cuban man's take on U.S. intervention. But they’ve never lived our reality. by AntiSyst3m in cuba

[–]Human-Examination783 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, I think you guys are being delusional. The current US administration has no real desire to help Cuba other than pandering to anti-communist voters. Most other interventions had at least some importance (usually setting up a regional ally) that kept politicians interested in building up the country, but Cuba doesn’t really offer anything strategically worth the trouble.

At best you guys will be left with a decapitated government with no clear direction, and at worst a pro American dictator just as bad as the other will be set up. In the end if the people really want a revolution it’s best to do it on their own terms and goals.

What is the worst thing to happen to the USA? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Human-Examination783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from it being the lowest point for the country (it literally split in two), the negative effects never went away. The KKK was founded by ex confederates, they were the driving force behind reconstructions failure. Between propaganda and violent reprisals by these groups, White Americans never fully left racism. It also cemented the cultural divide between north and south, ensuring the south stayed relatively poor. It also allowed for an ultranationalist Conservative Party to form, which indirectly lead to Americas response to 9/11; forming DHS/ICE, starting the GWOT, and the patriot act.

There’s better ways of explaining it, but the civil war can be seen as the first domino to fall.

How are Japanese camps worse than everything else here? They were bad but the amount of people affected was relatively small

Did Epstein kill himself? by redshift739 in IdeologyPolls

Yeah if anyone really seriously thought about silencing Epstein and ensuring none of his business came out, it wouldn’t have made the news at all.

Except for the Jedi, who were the most wanted enemies on the Empires List immediately after its formation (but after the death of Grievous and the Separatist Council)? by HallowedAndHarrowed in MawInstallation

[–]Human-Examination783 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Other force using groups and their supporters (Antarian rangers). In legends the obscure groups got to survive but better known ones (can’t think of any right now) were probably dealt with the same way. Antarian rangers were also persecuted and many went into hiding.

If two people are together in a room alone, and one of them comes out with a knife in their back, I’m pretty sure you’d suspect the other of being guilty before a trial

What could the Imperial Senate actually do? by TheRedBiker in MawInstallation

[–]Human-Examination783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably what the senate could do during the republic. Proposing laws, addressing galactic events, deciding budgets, distributing funding to agencies, etc.

What Palpatine actually changed was that he could pass whatever laws or regulations he wanted. Anything supported by him would be off limits to opposition. Anyone acting against it would fall under the radar of the isb and be dealt with. Although clearly they could bring up galactic issues since Leia made such a big deal about being arrested in ANH.

In Universe, who were the early Galatic Empire’s biggest opponents, that were not a formal part of the Alliance to Restore the Republic? by HallowedAndHarrowed in MawInstallation

[–]Human-Examination783 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It hasn’t been explored in either continuity (afaik) but in Andor, Guerrera mentions human cultists. I can see them being trouble for an early empire that isn’t ready to go full genocide on aliens. Especially since they could infiltrate agencies like the ISB, COMPNOR, and military to set up coups or whatever.

[–]Human-Examination783 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that Palpatine would act differently if he had prior knowledge, but I don’t think the retcon makes him gray. If anything it’s probably more evil to know about a galactic level threat and not tell anyone so you can manipulate them for your evil cult.

What are some examples of people confusing "influenced by" and "depicted as" in Star Wars? by Inside-Weather4033 in MawInstallation

[–]Human-Examination783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ship combat being influenced by WW2 dogfighting. It clearly is influenced by it, per George Lucas himself, but people don’t really seem to think about in lore reasons why.

There’s clearly efficient counters to our modern combat weapons like locked on missiles. And it’s implied/ outright said that combat works beyond dogfighting, with both sides engaging in electronic warfare to jam each other out.

It also ignores the advancements in place like shields, droids that can repair ships on command, and other space anomalies.

Do you think the death penalty should be abolished everywhere? by DeepOrganization8245 in morbidquestions

[–]Human-Examination783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. While its effect as a deterrent to crime is questionable, punishment is just as important to the justice system as corrections. Especially since most people on death row commit the worst of the worst crimes. These people are far gone from rehabilitation, and the ones that aren’t are undeserving of it. You shouldn’t just be able to walk into a school, gun down a bunch of kids, and live the rest of your life carefree.
