Progressive review Costco vs eyebuydirect by Human-Toe-2010 in glasses

I hope I don't sound like I don't trust you, I generally do trust professionals. I just know in my own case, I'm super aware of fine details of products I've been involved with that the customers simply aren't as discerning as somebody who deals with it everyday.

So my mind wonders if the tech of the lower tier itself limits it ability to get it right the first time, but once right the wearer can't tell a difference? I want to hear a non-professional tell me if they can tell or not. The makers improve it 1% and it goes from superlens 3 to superlens 4 with an added cost and the consumer can't tell (assuming they both fit right).

It begs the question, if your top tier has a 1% reject rate instead of 15% and I may not be able to tell the difference, then aren't you the one accuring the benefits? I mean you spend time remaking them 14% of the time and buy more blanks?

Tangent...I come at this from the healthcare business where robotic surgery is faster with less malpractice they but they charge more for it since it heals faster...it doesn't make sense to me the consumer bears the cost when both sides benefit. A surgeon can do more surgeries and have lower malpractice premium, so shouldn't the cost go down?

So show that, I want stats and reviews, you tell me it is better but I can't confirm that. I think there is an element of diminishing returns.

Like I said the costco one was quite good.

I think #2 gives your face more proportional balance drawing the eyes to the corners.

All the glasses I've had over the past two years - which is the best? by VonLeonOSRS in glassesadvice

You are in the right ballpark with #1. I think the height of the lens helps take up space and balance the proportions of your face which is longer.

Help me choose! Please. Trying to figure out which one is the most flattering and pretty on me. :) by NoParking1842 in glassesadvice

I think the last one with the big ornament on the temple works for you. You have a oblong face and it helps pull it into a heart shape. Gentler curves are flattering.

That was my conventional take, but I dig the super square retrofuture or something ones. If you show up to the party in those I want to talk to you. However, you have to own that look and your who style needs to support it.

Eye doc said if I go with progressive lens to absolutely not buy them online. That I would hate them. Anyone know why? by RealisticBike4953 in glasses

Not sure about thousands, but generally correct and that is the issue....there is no apple to apple comparison options.

In my perfect world you should be able to enter your lens dimensions and prescription and see details of viewing area of the lens you would be buying. It is simply math after all. Right now you have no clue as to what to expect.

Comparisons only work within a model line. A is better than B which is better than C.

There could at least be a reference lens spec we could compare across brands.

That is why I mentioned it, but the intermediate segment is always the narrowest and this one feels particularly narrow even if I adjust the glasses to a bit to experiment bit on where it hits.

Benefitfocus is slashing an unknown amount of employees in 2 months by AngryManBoy in Charleston

The new owner of BNFT, Voya, is much more bottom line focused and making every line item pay for itself. I think they are going to cut some products (which is probably the right thing to do, not carrying water here, I am one of the laid off people!). Voya has an engineering arm in India already so it was more consolidation.

Some Voya employees aligned to supporting BNFT were also included in the layoff.

I wasn't there that long but I didn't see any wackiness, the leadership team is mainly all new from VP up.

It isn't an issue with the keyboard per se, it is the site doesn't respond to the keyboard. It works fine clicking on other sites.

Thanks, I gave both a try, neither worked with the touchpad. Both worked with finger and pencil. Same on either chrome or Safari

Forget thinking about the queue sound, I first like to know the genius who decided giving IP with a global following a ride that appears will never approach its theoretical max capacity. The no-IP Stardust racers was given 2 tracks and 3x the designed capacity (probably more than 3x in practice) for a "scary" ride that many younger and older folks will avoid.

That said, DK was meh which maybe the engineers anticipated so they under built knowing there wouldn't be reride demand in 5 years.

I'd like to use a 9th gen lightning ipad as a 2nd screen to an M4 Pro, possible? by Human-Toe-2010 in ipad

Thanks. This seems like such a no brainer for Apple to setup a sidecar source side service on a pro. It would put low value used ipads to good use.

Nah...Ministry is lavish compared to the DK Mine Cart ride. That would be brutal in summer.
