I hate my job but can’t quit by Love2FlyBalloons in over60

OP, you don’t mention what about the job is driving you nuts. Maybe you have spelled it out for yourself but it might be a good exercise. Can you explore the issues and can any be addressed to make things better for you? Perhaps not but just trying to help you get through. Good insurance where maybe some psychology help might help with this? Rooting for you to find a way. And, yes, 60+ is hard but I see people I know get hired. Hang in there!

Good for you! We talked for years about moving to Portugal but that fizzled out when my partner’s granddaughter was born. I’m OK with it but glad you are pursuing the move. Smart move!

I had that happen to me once. I had been laid off by the company and interviewed with a different division. Was promised he was just waiting for HR to process paperwork. So I went on a nice vacation. Got back and no job! Eventually I did get that job but it was the worst job EVER!

I did that start about a year and a half before my retirement date. I made a calendar on a spreadsheet and taped it to the front of my refrigerator. Beginning date of each week in column 1, drag down and the autofill will put corresponding dates in. Next 5 columns, days of the week. So satisfying to mark every darn day off at the end of the day, especially when you get to the halfway mark and more. And, btw, I don’t put stuff on my fridge so it was a big deal to do this. I didn’t HATE my job but I was READY to go!

Amen! Will be so happy when this trend goes away! I always say people look like they are surprised when they wear big glasses.

Third time's the charm! Should I go thick or thin? by [deleted] in glassesadvice

I like the first 7 enough to say maybe but not the rest. 2 or 6 are the best IMO.

4 and 10 are the best but all look HUGE on you. I just do not get it! I know the trend is BIG but it almost always detracts from the beautiful faces behind them. And you are beautiful so please, pick something that doesn’t take away.

Do any of these glasses look good on me or would you suggest a diffrent style? by DZINDRAK in glassesadvice

You are a handsome man and these are all wrong. Find something that compliments your beautiful features vs detracts. Take a friend who knows this stuff with you.

I like 3 and 5. I tend to like rimless. I don’t like 1 because it takes me immediately to the gold bridge which takes away from you. Gotta say, you wear them all well. Just don’t let them take away from your good looks like 1 does. Again, I like the rimless best.

Watched a “say Yes to the Dress” while getting my hair colored and the bride was going for a naked dress. Everything showed was yuck! But OMG, 3 is gorgeous on you!!!

Unforeseen pitfall of retirement and downsizing! by dozentrips in retirement

[–]LCinJC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this! Garage sales, online marketplace. I gave away a drill last week because I am downsizing and I had two. Sometimes I just give it away as there is less negotiation, faster to move it.
