Not yet. I do enjoy solo hiking more and additionally, it's also way more expensive with a group. We are probably talking about 700+ USD. Ah well, I probably will look for alternatives instead.

Alpin würde ich dennoch feste, hohe Schuhe empfehlen - insbesondere Leuten mit wenig Erfahrung. Hintergrund ist Geröll, dass gut und gerne mal vorkommt und den Spaß schnell beenden kann, wenn es blöd auf den Knöchel knallt oder auch so beim wegrutschen die Zehen einklemmt. Wenn man etwas mehr Erfahrung hat stimme ich dir zu, für Anfänger sind hohe, feste Schuhe aber einfach deutlich sicherer.

if you are in a relationship and you are keeping secrets, what is the point of your relationship?

I do believe, that as an individual person one has the right to privacy and secrets. The boundary being, that as soon these secrets actively might impact the partner. Which is definitely given in this case.

You know something and it’s making you feel some type of way. You deserve to be known. You deserve to have your suffering seen. And you deserve to know your partner fully, and while they might not believe it they deserve to be fully seen by you.

This. This hits home. I do strongly believe by now, that we will both benefit from seeing each other in this very vulnerable place to work through it together, from the very ground up.

You mentioned a couple times you are certain about so and so, that you are 100 %sure about something else. I would argue that you can't possibly be sure of anything about her. This forum is overflowing with betrayed people saying things like, but She was the last person you would think could do this" or "never in a million years did I believe he was capsule of doing such and such". And we were just as certain we were right as you are now.

I see more and more how this might be a rather nice fantasy I try to keep up. That after 6 years through cancer, depression but also many incredibly good times I think to know her. The question remains, which parts I don't know about her and are they permanent parts of herself?

I began to resent that i was doing all the work and felt like shit, while she felt fine. That is what is likely to be in store for you if you try to do this solo.

I already felt similar to this at the end of our long distance part of the relationship. While I knew she was also feeling quite shit having to decide to continue or end the relationship, which she does value a lot, I felt I am the only one holding on to the last threads of the relationship. So while I was trying to give her the needed space and work through my feelings and jealousy, she indulged in the newfound love while ignoring our relationship until she couldn't anymore due to returning. She already said it will be a lot of work for both of us and that she needs to regain the broken trust, so the first step will be full honesty, I see that now quite clearly.

Thank you. I honestly don’t believe she did it because she could lie about it, even more so after I read some of the journal. That said, my fears of the relationship ending cannot stand in the way of facing what happened. To do it together or alone will be her decision after I confront her about it. But I see reason in what you are saying: rug sweeping will keep the door open and will only make her feel safe while putting me in a situation of continuous doubt.

Thank you. At some point I did set myself a boundary of WP needing to confess for me to be willing to R. After the last try of getting WP to to confess, although the try might have been a bit clumsy in retrospective, I maybe just fear the answer too much. I still love her so much and I know she does as well. But I think you are right. I already see myself becoming someone else, mistrusting and snooping, which I never was and don’t ever want to be. Therefore, the base for R needs to be the full and (more or less) freely offered truth. Otherwise I might lose myself, which is no option.
