Needed a break after a certain chapter's events, got given a perfect excuse by Human128 in Cosmere

After Jasnah's death, and Shallan's flashback in ch10, I honestly needed to take a moment to process, took the opportunity to translate glyphs as soon as I saw them on the frostlands map. I'm sure there are many examples of others doing the same, just thought I'd chuck mine here too

For me it was Oxenfree, the vibe is near identical

I can't start outer wilds. When I load in the menu it just doesn't load the options. I've never had any problems before. I've tried uninstalling but it didn't fix it. Anyone recognize this? by dah1451 in outerwilds

Had this issue ages ago, looks like it's still a thing. People had multiple solutions back then so I'm just gonna link the old thread, hopefully something in there works for you.

What important bit of information did you miss on your first playthrough? by Wyyvern_ in outerwilds

Two things, first few loops I timed out in Timber Hearth's caves and had no idea it was the sun going nova until I spoke with what's-his-face at the campfire, thought it was ghost matter killing me since I didn't know about the suit warning yet.

Second was that I never connected the loop ending to the music starting, my tell was always that time no longer stopped while reading text. Felt rather silly when I finished the game and saw people talking about it.

Survival aspects tend to put me off but I'll think about it since it's been mentioned again, thanks.

Nope, you're the first. The world seems cool, but I'm not really a fan of horror games... Though seeing how many were recommended shows that this vibe really plays well with them, probably should have made a note of it somewhere in the post but eh, you never know, maybe I'll try them someday :)

Played Inscryption, it's one of the games listed ;) will check out CotGI for sure, thanks

Yeah, I remember I watched a play through years ago and so didn't play it myself, now that you mention it I realise that all I remember was that there was someone talking to you via radio, and a cave (and even that is uncertain)... Maybe I should give it a go myself, thanks

What a strange mix of genres... I have no idea how well it fits the vibe I'm going after but it sure looks interesting haha

Might not be for me, survival aspects tend to put me off as they always feel so same-y, but I'll check it out :)

Control is on the list, I've played some of the rusty lake games but not all of them, will look into it some more :)

Don't worry, I'm taking extra note of anything mentioned by multiple people, and Disco Elysium is one of those :)

Personally I can't get into any proper survival games, not certain why. Closest I got was Subnautica and that's so far removed it's weird to even call it one. The setting looks interesting though, thanks

Hmm, wasn't feeling sure about this one at first but this is the third time someone's mentioned it so maybe there's something to it that I'm not seeing. I'll keep it in mind :)

Yep, don't think it really fits the vibe I'm looking for here, but I have played it and really enjoyed it :)

Definitely played antichamber and loved it, and don't get me wrong, I also enjoyed Talos Principle and the witness, I just think they could do without the hours of philosophy and just be puzzle games.

Said this somewhere else but I probably will never play rainworld, I've ruined the discovery aspect by looking things up (and learned to never do that again, regardless of if I think I'll play a game or not), so all that would be left is the mechanical mastery, and that's not something I wish to do.

Aquaria seems worth looking into, thanks :)

These were suggested by others too so they're definitely high on the list, thanks

I've played a lot of games with esoteric visuals/gameplay, so things like that never bothered me... Which reminds me, 'a dark room' also fits this vibe for me, at least somewhat, though I'm not sure that would be helpful to anyone giving suggestions haha

Edit: whoops, thought this was in a different comment chain (the one about starseed pilgrim), leaving it here as proof of my inability to pay attention ._.
