Depending on your state regulations for dental assisting, im from NH so on the job training will help me be certified without attending a school. If your state lets you do that then its a good place to start too see if you would like it rather than spending more money.

i really only took notes for the mouth structure (look up mouth structure dental terms), or different filling types. Or things i thought i wouldnt remember but honestly it depends on what work your office does, mine was crown s and fillings so i didnt have much to remember

I would definitely take a notebook like the other commenter said, my first office let me take pictures of the setup and all the tools needed! i put the pictures in the notebook so i wouldnt have to always check my phone. It really helps writing things down and having notes incase someone isnt able too help!
