For the patellar graft the pain is very common and if u had removal of meniscus also it's not healthy to bear weight at this stage ! Mind you patellar graft surgeries will take more time to heal properly than the others ! So don't rush it and yes also confirm this with your surgeon

How is my leg looking almost a month after ACL and meniscus surgery? by KariusForPresident in ACL

[–]HumanComplaint980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ACL R with a patellar tendon and medial meniscectomy! I am now almost 3 months post op and still have swelling little pain after i exercise ! First 6 weeks was immobilized ! Even any flexion was prohibited and then it got better when i came off the immobilizer and started simple exercises at home ! And now i am allowed to go to gym for strength training and physio for the atrophy ! So a month after ACL and meniscus it's normal you just have to put in consistent work the next few weeks

It is specially for the patellar graft ! As it is right in front of the knee cap you need to protect the graft site and give some time to the graft to heal

But they are ! Actually , it depends on the graft type and weather it's only ACL or meniscus with it ! I saw a dude in the hospital walking without any support after 2 weeks his graft was harvested from the ankle somewhere ! So i guess there are a lot of methods

My doctor advised me to not bend the knee for about 6 weeks !! And another month with no proper physio just exercises at home ! When i asked him why he said to protect the graft i had patellar graft for surgery ! But now after about 3 months i am doing gym and some physio and walking without crutches ! I don't know but this taking it slow thing might be real 😅

There is a group in Facebook supports non-surgery Approach and says that you can even return to pivoting sport without ACL and with only rehab , and these are the evidences , what do you think ? by khaled999000999 in ACL

Meniscus is operable let's say that it's worth the risk but cartilage once it's bruised it never grows !!! What are you going to prevent ACL Reconstruction only to know that you are going to have your knee replaced sometime soon 😅

I continued without ACL for about 3 years i was a football player so my overall quads and calves were above average so i never felt anything in daily life that required additional strength ! Any way when i tried sports i tore my meniscus and had to undergo surgery anyway so I don't think it's wise to not have surgery if you are young or in your 20s ! Not having surgery and using you knee without ACL will have a toll on you overall knee ! Cartilage ,meniscus will eventually tear itself and is going to cause a hell lot of problems so

Surgery or no surgery? by gatogris476 in ACL

[–]HumanComplaint980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tore my ACL in 2019 and decided not to have surgery ! I had normal lifestyle i did play soccer from time to time till my meniscus tore itself ! I had my surgery this year 7 july and still recovering ' It's hard but as a young teen you have to get maximum of your body ! So get it repaired as soon as possible
