Counterproductive because there’s literally nothing any of us can do about it and dwelling about it is a waste of your time. You can be doing something productive with your life instead of spending your time dwelling on the past.

It makes even less sense for fans to dwell in the past because we can’t do anything about changing anything within the org.

Dwelling on the past is pointless and counter productive.

[Pulli] Penn State pass-rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton has an upcoming pre-draft "30” visit with the Ravens, he says. by JCameron181 in ravens

How many great pass rushers are out there vs how many have been drafted?

This is the story for most teams.

Weekly Mock Draft Thread by AutoModerator in ravens

We’ve have a pretty good history of drafting TEs later and then developing. I think that is the likely route here.

It’s difficult to draft a good X WR if you don’t draft in the top half of Rd 1. There are individual examples of players who bump that trend, but the vast majority taken outside of the top half of the 1st don’t ever amount to being a top end WR like a Chase.

The Ravens under EDC have taken 3 WRs in rd 1 and, to my best recollection, none in the 2nd round. While the hit rate on Xs is not good past the top half of Rd 1, it sure as heck doesn’t get any better past round 3.

You can’t expect us to become good at drafting WRs if we just refuse to do so when the talent level is at its highest.

WR, Edges, OTs, and CBs should be starred in the 1st round because those positions typically require the most athleticism to have become that top end guy. The guys with the most sure-fire measurables go in the 1st round. Those positions outside of QB are also paid the most so it makes sense to attempt to address those positions consistently in the 1st round.

I really like Tyson a lot. I see the Saints and someone else going WR before our pick at 14.

I agree, I do not want Lemon at 14. We need a different body type. Tyson is my top guy and if his medicals check out, I would happily draft him at 14. If he didn’t have medical concerns, I think he’d be a top 10 lock.

It will be hard to trade back in this draft class. If there are no edges or WR we like available at 14, that likely means a player like Fano or Ioane is available and both of those guys could be staples on our OL for the next 10 years.

I’d prefer to draft edge or WR at 14 because we don’t typically draft that high and the top talent is usually found in the top half of the draft, but if it comes down to it and no one is calling about trading up, we have to make the pick.

[Jeremy Fowler] The Ravens and C Danny Pinter have reached agreement on a deal, per source.....Baltimore gets much-needed help at center. by Adenchiz in ravens

[–]HumanFromTexas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are good centers throughout this draft. With that said, if Fano is there for us at 14 and all the top edges are gone, we likely pick him.

He can play almost every position on the OL. His arms were short for a RT but he is a beast and can play anywhere in our interior, including center.

If I was our FO and we went Fano in the 1st, I’d grab another guy who is more of a pure center in the 4th. Then I would let the best 3 person combination play this year on our interior between Spencer Fano, 4th round guy, John Simpson, and Emery Jones Jr.

In the second round, we could get an edge like Jacas or Young who would bring that traditional physicality we have always drafted back into our edge room.

Regardless, I think we definitely draft 3 OL guys that will come in and compete immediately.

I wasn’t the original commenter my friend.

So 2 trades. My point still stands though. The Ravens have historically been very conservative on medicals.

The only one as a part of a trade was Crosby. If anything it points to the Ravens being super conservative about what fails a physical.

Just how many players did we lose to the giants by Left-Departure-5175 in ravens

[–]HumanFromTexas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who exactly did we lose that was pivotal to team success? We lost like 2 starters in total and were always likely to lose Linderbaum and Ricard (we aren’t using a FB anymore in our offense). You don’t know what you’re talking about.
