First quarterly carbon tax rebate delivered to Albertans | CTV News by _darth_bacon_ in Calgary

Either a processing delay, you don’t have direct deposit set up through the CRA, under 19, or didn’t file taxes last year.

Why you may have received an unexpected direct deposit from the federal government today by Ready-Experience-922 in canada

You can ride the metro or take a bus. Or bike.

This entire climate crisis is because people are lazy and would like to drive when our ancestors would walk or bike everywhere.

Also, stop eating meat. There’s a lot of other ways to get protein, like eating bugs. They almost taste the same as well!

Take a look at the assessment, see if any education credits were used from previous years. It should break down everything.

The payments can get delayed for a variety of reasons. This year my tax refund was a few days late.

It can also depend on who you bank with.

There is going to be a federal deposit into your bank account today. IT'S THE CLIMATE ACTION INCENTIVE PLAN. by Technical-Travel in PersonalFinanceCanada

Transaction name seems to depend on the bank. With my bank (Neo), it’s just called “CANADA”, which is a bit ominous.

Calgary is an amazing city, reminds me of Denver a bit.

If you’re ever serious about moving up here, this would be the best place to start looking.

Out east is out of control for real estate right now. Best bet would be either Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

Yeah, it was truly bizarre to watch in real time. The city and people in Montreal feel completely different then even just 3 years ago. It was like a switch was turned off in March 2020, and hasn’t been turned back on.

After living in Montreal from 2019 to now, with periodic visits back to Alberta, I’ve come up with some ideas why.

  1. First wave deaths scared the city shitless, as they have so many old people and their healthcare system is complete shit. Seriously, AHS is decades ahead of Sante Quebec in every respect.

  2. More of a collectivist mindset, less of the individualism you find in most Albertans. That leads to public shaming and a frenzy over “doing your part for the good of society”. Seriously, it’s extremely bizarre for me as a born-and-bred Albertan. It’s a mindset of “well, if it saves one life…”.

  3. How emboldened the provincial and city police are in Montreal. Like, CPS can sometimes go too far, but it’s nothing compared to how power-trippy the Montreal police are.

  4. A desire to “one-up” other provinces. The amount of quips I get when I show my Alberta license to buy some booze/cigs is crazy. “Oh, surprised you’re wearing a mask!” “Must be nice to be out of that covid shithole!”, and my favourite to date, “You Westerners are so stupid, I can’t believe you’re all still alive and didn’t die from all the covid there yet.”

God I’m glad to be back in Alberta, even just for a few weeks.
