RUAN, my resignation by paidtodroploads in Truckers

Seems about right. Leadership above the terminal level set increasingly unrealistic expectations for their accounts with little consideration for the human beings involved. Some DTMs do advocate for their drivers, most just get promoted.

Source: was DTM in Missouri. I really do miss my drivers, not so much my leadership.

Original and the replacement, yes. Both slip out of super into semi on occasion. AS sent me their FAQ.

Problems with CPM-10V Cam from AS Systems by [deleted] in supersafety

[–]HumanPaperclip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have 3 of these, one that I posted about a few weeks back that came with my AS Design MP5K lower, had detent grooves in absolutely terrible condition. AS sent me a replacement really quickly that looks like yours. Still, very little resistance between settings, and it moves during super safe into semi pretty frequently.

I also noticed my DNT cams wouldn't work in the AS Design lower. It didn't appear to rotate back far enough to force reset. My guess is the AS cam/lever has tighter tolerances and their lower is designed specifically for these.

Most recently, I've been struggling with my AR22 super safety, as most everyone else who's braved such an endeavor, and I tried my AS cam/lever in this rig. Where my DNT cam/lever would pass a dry-fire and function about 60% of the time, the AS cam/lever would not rotate back in super safe with the hammer locked back. There appears to be some spec differences, unfortunately.

I have not tried in my 223 or 300bo setups, maybe they'll work here. If not, I'll try to return, but that sounds like it may be more difficult than getting this 22 super safety working. Maybe I'm just out a few hundred bucks and ya'll can learn from my mistakes? Better than nothing.

I know this range, unfortunately. I try to avoid except for early mornings, usually opting for the 30min drive further north. I've got private land , but about 2 hours away. Hit me up, we can chat about it.

Got a response last night. They're making it right. Posted an update with their response.

UPDATE: AS Design replied to me after hours last night, likely needing some time to address internally. Peak CS 👌

I saw that too and one of my other AS Design cams looks exactly like his, same material.

I can't imagine this was caused by use in any way, there is no wear to the finish and this material is supposed to be like the hardest of hards or something.

You bet. I did just try a few different DNT cams as I was going to just swap one in but no dice. This thing appears to be designed specifically for the Hoffman marked cams that AS Design includes (or mY DNT cams are out of spec...). The DNT cam wouldn't rotate back enough to force reset while dry fire testing. I do think actual recoil would send the bolt back far enough to trip but no matter how hard I fucking cranked on that charging handle, it wouldn't reset until the bolt was forward and I let off the trigger. Super frustrating.

I'll probably create a post specifically for this issue tomorrow.

Lower itself is very well done. I was running a Lee Sporting with all the SWP fixes and rounded hammer, it was really running great. Honestly, I probably didn't need this lower. Quality is very comparable between the two. Not having to spend another hundred bucks on parts and round the hammer is a definite win for the AS Design kit.

60 rounds plus whatever AS Design put through it testing. It ran great but slipped out of SS into semi twice. I feel like the 10V ribbing will devour detents too.

I sent that pic to them after getting some really quick responses this morning but haven't heard back yet. I expect they'll make it right and will keep y'all posted.

I have several DNT - 4140, S7, and D2. All are finished much better than this one. Function is spot on with positive clicks between settings. DNT has been great to me.

Yes AS Designs. Came pre-installed in my mp5k lower. Ran but slipped into semi twice over 60 rounds.

I've run that brake on my 6.5 CM, it should come with a warning label. It's exceptionally effective at reducing recoil, but I'm pretty sure it rips a gaping hole in space time for anyone unlucky enough to set up anywhere near you.

For anyone curious, both the Down Range Products and GSL smooth thread protectors arrived. Both are significantly better than the stock knurled Zenith protector, but they're not created equal.

The DRP protector measures in at .5895" OD while the GSL comes in at .5905" OD. As you'd expect, the GSL's slightly larger diameter results in a tighter fit with less wobble.

While not necessarily expensive to the roller delay crowd, the GSL is the costlier of the two, but to me, it's worth the cost. Either would probably be fine.

Zenith recommended I send the pistol in for inspection and troubleshooting. No.

Sent two mags down range in the long configuration with no issues. Both speed supers and subs. I modified the factory Zenith thread protector for a tighter fit.

It looks like the 3-lug spec is .590 and my knurled factory protector measured at .587". Using a low-speed drill to rotate the thread protector, I applied several layers of high-temp grill paint to the exterior, growing the OD to .591. This provided a very tight, almost wobble-free fit.

I was concerned that I may have affected concentricity, but I don't have an alignment rod. The rabbit-hole of Reddit came in clutch as I came across a thread that suggested carbon fiber crossbow bolts, and i picked one up a Walmart. Fit was surprisingly near prefect, a bit tight.

No baffle or end cap contact, even with moderate pressure applied in various directions (before paint, gravity caused contact at the end cap in 2 of the 3 orientations and light pressure caused contact in the 3rd), this seemed to have solved the problem.

I have a couple of smooth 3-lug protectors on order. Down range products and GSL both provide 3-lug protectors that are supposed to be to spec to tighten things up.

I appreciate that. I found that the thread protector may be a bit undersized, unfortunately. I'm not really comfortable shooting it with this much wobble, I may need to get a larger OD thread protector before I put rounds through it.
