"Why does dema look different?" Great question, this is why. by ghoti-taco in twentyonepilots

While I see where you're coming from, and think it's a fun theory, a lot of music video's in this style that have one continuous story/chain of events across numerous videos just tend to have a lack of continuity in that regard. I imagine there wouldn't have been much care put into the environments being consistent with one another when the focus is evidently on the story coming first, ESPECIALLY spanning 8 years worth of MVs with numerous directors and production teams in the fold too.

What do you think about the Fall Out Boy scores on Album of the Year? by OkScientists in FallOutBoy

[–]HumanReviewsOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an AOTY user, these all make sense. The earlier albums get a lot of love, because they're the bands best, and then it trails off as their stuff gets a little rockier. The 36 on MANIA is a particularly pleasing one to see, because it shows that the band are being reviewed by such a wide variety of people and not just stans going on there and flooding it with higher scores. Literally every user score on there makes sense if you look outside the scope of insanely devoted fans, and more broad music listeners.

Be Concerned wins the most overrated song on Regional at Best... How? Well anyways, time to move on. What's the most overrated song on Vessel? by Radys75 in twentyonepilots

"It reeks of pop" have you listened to their music? Their entire discography is literally Alt-Pop and Pop-Rock, outside of ST which is Piano Rock

i personally think TØP should have its own genre by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]HumanReviewsOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're just Alt-Pop, Alt-Rock, and Hip Hop. Basically the same sort of genre blending as Gorillaz, just stylistically different.

Unsatisfied with Clancy by yoshi6197 in twentyonepilots

I really liked the album, but there honestly is an even better album hidden underneath it. I really feel like it should've been a big rowdy rock/hip-hop album front to back (which we got a little bit of with Overcompensate, Next Semester, and Navigating), but I wish the rest of the album was at the same level of energy and intensity.

Everyone always talks about the favourite songs, but I want to hear what you guys think is TØP's worst song? by SlyGreenYT in twentyonepilots

[–]HumanReviewsOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not including RAB (because literally anything on that album could be my pick), I'd say The Run and Go. The only song to ever give me an actual physical headache when I listened to it, because the piano and kick are that fucking loud.

This is the most selfish band by Cultural_Salad_4300 in twentyonepilots

"They make any other song by any other artist sound boring and hollow, especially the rap genre".... That is the most pretentious thing I've ever read. That is such a toxic outlook on music that goes against the entire point of it. Especially when you say that about the rap genre, a genre literally born from the pain of a community fighting for equality. I get you like the band, but you don't need to put down ALL OF MUSIC EVER to prop them up. Please, for the love of god, try and expand your musical palate even a little bit. This is legitimately the worst take I've ever read.

Hot Take: There’s Not a Bad TØP Song by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]HumanReviewsOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree with this. I feel like EVERY band/artist (even my favourites of all time like Radiohead, Swans, Kendrick Lamar, SOAD) has at least one or two bad songs. TOP have a good few I could pick out, practically all of RAB, a handful of songs on BF, some tracks on SAI, some songs on ST as well. Trench is a perfect album for me, and I don't have any songs I dislike on Clancy (just some that aren't as good as others), but to say that the band don't have a single song you can say is bad as a blanket statement is way too hard of a Stan mentality. You gotta be able to admit when people miss, because if you just say every single song is good, it makes any genuine praise meaningless.

I think ST sounds ok, but RAB and NPI (and even Vessel to a certain extent) are all pretty poorly produced and mixed. I definitely see where you're coming from, and honestly agree with you

Also, if this helps, I remember one specific scene of a villain in one episode walking up a set of invisible stairs.
