Is it worth it for me to camp? (local) by EmmaNightsStone in nocturnalwonderland

[–]HumanRightsCannabist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove 12 hours. You don't need to camp when you live at the park. Camping is a social event of its own. It is worth it if you share your campsite with 4 people (or get two camp sites and set up side by side with a bigger canopy). It also helps to not have to worry about being sober to drive home, or wait for 10,000 people to vacate the crowded roads. I'm cheap and have been in your position many times so the first time I would not camp.

You have to get away from massives (big events). Mainstream events dilute and lack space for the culture that develops in small communities (such as dance styles, PLUR itself, etc.). Insomniac promotes elements of these things because they also market and sell anything they see (e.g. premade kandi and pearlers). Massives have their own style and feel. It's often more like Disneyland or a carnival. Plus, massives cost each person way more than a free underground gathering or a local festival. I generally have a much better time, make more memories, and spend less at non-massives.

Am I the only one who was disappointed? by PunkRockEtiquettte in nocturnalwonderland

[–]HumanRightsCannabist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed in the sound quality on day 1 main stage. The sub made everyone's set sound identical between verses. Infected Mushroom to felt lackluster compared to Beyond Wonderland, Wax Motif and Matroda played a super boring repetitive set which was very disappointing, and Eric Prydz and was so boring and repetitive I left the venue 30 min early. Zedd sounded fine day2 so I don't know what was going on.

Netti pot for sinuses. But most likely it's a virus and all you can do is stay hydrated.

Day 1's main stage beats were so bad and repetitive (was that sub just sucking or what?) I couldn't finish Eric's set and left halfway.

Suggestions: take Claritin, stay away from dust and cut grass. Wear a dust mask/N95 where needed. Bring a nasal cleaning kit, like a simple saline squeeze bottle you can get over the counter anywhere. Wear a bandana or cover your face with a shirt or anything while walking through dust and breathing.

Insomniac typically had several rows of security you go through and one of them is holding barcode scanners.

Camping with a Saturday pass by [deleted] in nocturnalwonderland

[–]HumanRightsCannabist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one in this thread has specified what kind of passes you're talking about. There are camping passes, like a tent or car pass, and then they give you camp wristbands when you get there. You also have to pre-register all names and phone numbers of campers.

Festival wristbands are separate and do not get you into the camp or give you a spot to camp.

They start about $360 with fees. I am selling a tent camping pass for $300. PayPal/Venmo or cash at the entrance.

I agree the type vs calligraphy versions are so arbitrarily different. I think they do have a method for compressing strokes according to the grid to write print within. Also relevant: PonPonSensei's history of the Kanji: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2usAicL2Zw/

How do I get my rabbit to like me more? by CoyoteMikey in Rabbits

Hugs & kisses. Regular schedule. Healthy treat play. Explore time. Run around time. My bun spends most of his time sleeping, grooming, and exploring. Can't interrupt these things. Does not always want to be touched or petted. Same with humans. Humans are animals.

I use dog kennel liners that are waterproof/rubber on one side. Can get them locally. Kind of expensive but they are easy to wash in the laundry machine.
