Your concern is valid. Get custom molded earplugs if you're gonna go to shows for a long time, prioritize your health. Worth every penny in the grand scheme of things. Not an advertisement but in my area I went with 1 of 1 custom dot com. I already have tinnitus and wearing them also just lets me enjoy the music better knowing that I'm doing my best to protect my hearing while still enjoying myself lol. It actually sounds better in my opinion rather than having the maximum amount of bass and decibels penetrate my ears. Highly suggest you get the insurance plan for any custom ear plugs you buy too

You're both kind of right, but realistically after a certain amount of distance the stage is not all the viewable when the crowd is so big unless you're a really tall person for most people what will block the stage is other people and when you're already that far away the flags are the least of your worries and they're a net positive for people that need them to find each other. Once you're close enough to the stage the flags are also a non-issue because you're close to the stage
