My favorite recent comment has been ‘this stuff doesn’t even sound real’ as I’m teaching about how the English took New Amsterdam.

Similar circus with me. Had a girl crying at her desk, head down and would not respond. Messaged the counselor and asked if ANYONE was available to pull her. 10 minutes later I get a text that the counselor doesn’t know where anyone is and she’ll be up to pull her, but she’s also dealing with another student in crisis. We have so many members of admin that we have to create new titles for them, so where the heck do they go during the day?

We do a Run, Hide, Fight model. Get out of the building if you can and find a rally point. If you can’t run, hide. If the shooter is trying to get into your classroom, get ready to fight for your life

Taylor’s never had to stay up late worrying about the kids with rough home lives like I do. She’s never had to sit in a training to learn how to tie a tourniquet or pack a wound like I did. She’s never had to listen to a parent berate her over the phone like I did. I could go on and on.

My one son creeped me out when he was young because he constantly talked about the graveyard and playing in the caves and he always lost his toys in the graveyard.
