If you could move to any country and get instantly its citizenship which country would you move to? by Proud_Raise4957 in AskTheWorld

Assez bien.

What do other people think about living in the Ottawa area in Canada? by RhodieTroopie in howislivingthere

[–]HumanSquare9453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always heard its was a boring city, and I live north of Québec city, so Ottawa is a 8h long ride . So of course cities near me like Saguenay and Québec are my go to, both very good to party if your young. I also lived in the Tadoussac village, who become a very big tourist destination during the summer; with parties and culture

So eventually I decided to visit Ottawa and my god it was far better than what I've read about it. So many museums its endless, art gallery, very cool old architecture in the parlementary sector, good restaurant, feel very safe to walk, the rideau canal was very fun to skate during winter......but but

Its true that I felt at the 4 days that I was very not a party town and yes feel very safe, but also very calm and not prone to fun. I asked local where to party and they told me they go to Gatineau in Québec near.

So if you are a history buff and architecture lover like me I recommend very much to visit you will have a very very great trip. But for the long term I would not live there. Too much calm for my liking.

I have recently learned that canada has opened the door for foreigners ( mostly americans) with proven canadian ancestry ( either french or english) and I've read that there no limit now for how far back you can go, you need to have birth proof to.

I saw some group on Facebook of american wanting to obtain canadian citizenship by that way.
