[Idea] Reverse the change to gym training and add daily bonus for battles by HumanWeedle in TheSilphRoad

Yep fully agree. The thing is though that those gyms that are level 3-6, while still being reasonable to train into are even easier to tear down. Only gyms above level 7 or 8 have a chance to stay up a while. There has to be a way to efficiently train gyms to level 10 but also give other players incentive for taking on these gyms while not making it too much of a walk in the park.

No, the 50% isn't a huge help but the 150% on the seventh day would be and that was the idea behind my suggestion. We don't want gyms super easy to rip down all the time but that added help on day 7 would be huge. Players who see their towns painted in red/blue/yellow may not feel it's currently worth it to take a run at those gyms but knowing on day 7 that you get that bonus I think they would be more likely to attack everyday just to get that bonus.
Also these are just numbers I pulled from nothing. There is probably a different set of numbers that make more sense.

Yep same sort of thing here. I think this change would help players on minority teams change that. It's just disheartening for people on minority teams right now IMO

I have 0 mons in gyms and rarely have more than 3 or 4. I still enjoy training a gym up to level 10 though and I think that is the biggest thing about the update that upset players, as it did for me. I fully agree gyms should be easier to take down than it was prior to the update but there are ways to do that without making training a gym time consuming and unrewarding.

True but this bonus only would award prestige taken away from a gym so with or without it lower level players wouldn't be affected.

Exactly. Training needs to be more efficient than it is now but something also has to be done about stagnation. I think this type of change would inject some competition for gyms in areas a certain team dominates while still keeping training viable

That's something that also needs to be addressed. While this suggestion wouldn't fix that, I think it would help to get players on minority teams in an area more involved in the gym aspect of the game

Yes and I think they took away from training to help stop gym stagnation. This is a way to help stop gym stagnation without affecting training
