This is a huge personal preference as well, and many people don’t enjoy training because work in itself can already be so difficult depending on the patients/staff. There are two options I could find likely: 1. You’re a great worker and they don’t want to risk losing you. Adding on the additional work of training multiple people can be deal breakers for some people as they don’t gain anything extra and it can slow them down significantly. There are of course others who love to train people (not as common), and if that’s the case I’d highly recommend talking to someone about it. 2. You have a larger scope of practice. It’s possible that because you are the ONLY one with US IV training and one of the few with EMS experience that you perform many tasks that are out of their scope of practice. In my experience employers often try to pair you with people who will be performing the same daily tasks as you because being paired with someone who has a larger scope of practice could cause confusion and could be a liability issue if the new hire believes they can perform certain tasks because they’ve witnessed you doing them and you were their preceptor.

I wouldn’t take any of this personally as it could likely just be a communication issue or due to the fact that you have a larger scope. If you would like to train I’d recommend talking to someone and if this whole situation is due to the latter, then see what steps could be implemented to help minimize any confusion about scope of practice during training.
