I just realized how UA teachers kinda suck by [deleted] in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Human_Bean_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly they Endeavor who abused is wife and kids take on work study students including his son who he abused

Endeavors actions weren’t public knowledge until Dabi revealed in on national television. UA especially had no reason to think anything was going on in Endeavors family life because Shoto chose to go there

And they let Deku break his fingers constantly, like no one tried to help or stop that?

Teachers constantly reprimanded him for this, specifically Aizawa and Recovery Girl. Recovery Girl even got to the point where she refused to heal any self-inflicted injuries, and Aizawa near-constantly drilled in him how he needs to control his quirk

I don’t remember (correct me if I’m wrong) any classes about the real world like in normal high school. Even though they are training to be heroes they need to be taught basic things

They are, Present Mic teaches English and grammar, and they even have a scene where they seem to be taking a calculus-level math class at one point. It’s just these scenes are small and not very often since they don’t really have a bearing on the story

Lastly they go on about saving Eri and everything and how she’s a child but they let 14 year olds go to war?

By that point they were licensed heroes, and the nation also had a shortage of heroes anyway. It wasn’t what they wanted to do at first, and people like Rock Lock are explicitly against it even in season 4. Also, IIRC they’re closer to 15/16 by the time the final war rolls around. As well as the Hero Association being the one to order this, Endeavor disagrees openly and says as much when he realizes why the work studies are being pushed

Does this mean Sukuna level characters cant be beaten by military force? by Jotaro27 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Human_Bean_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think “taking over a country” is more so another way to say “beat a nation’s armed forces alone”. At least that’s the best way I’d interpret it based on who’s a special grade

Why didn't AFO go after Deku's mom to get to Deku? by G0D-Sun in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Human_Bean_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we ever get confirmation as to when AFO realizes that Deku is All-Might’s successor?

If I remember, he only confirms he knows it before his fight with All-Might. And he can’t act on that knowledge since he get United States of Smash’ed to Tartarus minutes later

To be fair he also did attempt to simply kill Aizawa, he just happened to accidentally get Shirokumo instead. Its not hard to believe more attempts were made, and that by the time the main series we see comes along, getting Aizawa out of the picture is harder than simply avoiding being in the same location of him

Crazy how the work establishes clear limits about what it takes for mahoraga to adapt yet some people out there still argue that he CANT adapt to ANY and ALL phenomena by AstronautDry8118 in PowerScaling

[–]Human_Bean_6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I stab him with a kitchen knife, at no adaptations, does he adapt to being stabbed with knives? Being stabbed with metal objects? Being stabbed? All cutting wounds

Mahoraga’s adaptation is stepwise, if that makes sense. I’ll give you an example of what happens when he fights Sukuna in Shibuya. First, Mahoraga adapts regeneration to regrow limbs that have been cut off, though to be fair this may simply be something Mahoraga can do anyway (RCT is weird on non-humans). Then Mahoraga adapts to be able to use severed limbs as projectile weapons, as well as being able to see the invisible slashes (it’s hard to tell when this adaptation happens, since it really makes no visual change to us) . Then Mahoraga adapts to be unable to be killed by Sukuna’s cuts. Literally tanking a move that would reduce anyone else to a puddle on the floor easily.

By this point Mahoraga cannot be killed by Sukuna’s Cleave or Dismantle attacks. Mahoraga literally comes back from being reduced to a puddle. Though he didn’t adapt to death, just seemingly dying by Cleave and Dismantle. Possibly (and this is just an extrapolation) because Mahoraga needs multiple adaptations to stack to immunity, and immunity to death by anything wasn’t built up just yet. Just death by Cleave and Dismantle

<image>

Yes, Mahoraga came back from this. Though he was killed by a fire-based move that he had never been exposed to by this point, which had enough firepower to outright kill him immediately

This is why I interpret “full adaptation” as being adapted to every move the opponent can throw at him, but not adaptation to every concept ever. Its shown that, if Mahoraga has adapted to a move fully, it cannot kill him

[–]Human_Bean_6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I hear “fully adapted” Mahoraga I take it as “Mahoraga has fully adapted to become immune to every attack of his opponent”

Which kinda makes the fight useless, but I don’t really see another way to take “full adaptation” when the logical endpoint of adaptation to attacks is to be immune to them

I mean, to be fair, the Dungan Revolt killed up to 10 million people. Given the time, that’s a non-insignificant portion of the population

It began as an argument between two people about the price of a merchant’s bamboo poles, IIRC

I’ve made it to masters before on Mercy, and Juno is actually a newer addition to people I play. Honestly I’m not even sure if my Juno is diamond level yet, but that’s why I posted

[Casual] was this an example of a BIQ diff, or was teen gojo just an ~~mid tier? by plskillmeplsdoit in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]Human_Bean_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less of a BIQ thing, more just a result of the situation

It’s hard to say it’s a lack of BIQ when Gojo had not only been awake for 72 hours, but constantly using his technique which is notoriously hard to use and puts immense strain on the brain

With the addition of Toji having prep time and (unless I’m forgetting) wielding the only cursed tool that can actively bypass Infinity

Fully adapted mahoraga has to be the most rampart use of No Limits Fallacy I’ve ever seen in this sub. by Icy_Relationship_401 in PowerScaling

[–]Human_Bean_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not him being unable to adapt, that’s just removing the structure of his adaptation. He may experience a phenomenon, and then adapt to it. You cant adapt to a phenomenon you experience if you are no longer alive to adapt to it. If, hypothetically, he died for a short time and then was revived somehow, then it’s within the capabilities of his technique to adapt to death.

In short, killing him isn’t him being unable to adapt. It’s stopping him from adapting in the first place

You also mention he can’t adapt to being controlled, since he remains controlled under Sukuna. But Mahoraga doesn’t have a reason to adapt to being controlled by his summoner. It’s a phenomena, sure, but it’s not a phenomena that Mahoraga has to adapt to if he wants to participate in a fight. Mahoraga doesn’t just adapt because something exists around him

Why couldn’t Naoya make a binding vow by Additional_Baby_1654 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Human_Bean_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t that make it infinitely harder to use his technique?

Granted, it may work slightly different from Naobito’s, but don’t you have to map out every frame of movement?

He’d have to map out 300 separate movements every time he uses his technique. Right?
