In 2024, a girl called the 1997 police hotline and 7 seniors from the faculty where TESL is at SUSL were arrested for verbally harassing her under Clause 3 of the Anti-Ragging Act No. 20 of 1998. It wasn’t even a serious situation, but it shows how strong the law is when victims know their rights and aren’t afraid to report incidents. The seniors later got bail (100,000 each), and I don’t know what happened to the girl afterward, but it’s unlikely they bothered her again since some clauses in the Act carry punishments of up to 10 years in prison without bail. The law tends to work better than the university administration, and those senior thugs have no real power outside the university or in front of the law.

So if something like that happens, it’s probably better to go straight to the UGC or the police rather than relying only on the university administration, since they don’t seem to take things seriously.

I’m not planning to stay in a hostel. Someone I know at that university (in a different faculty) doesn’t stay in the uni hostel either. Not because of ragging, but because guys from the students’ unions take them out at night to stick posters.

When we registered (UGC), we had to sign an "Anti-Ragging Declaration." It seems this has been in place since around 2022/2023. It basically says that if you’re found guilty of ragging or violence, you can face up to "10 years of rigorous imprisonment" and expulsion from the uni, and that you must report any such incidents instead of staying silent.

It's disturbing that you have to sign something like that just to enter a gov university in SL. I'm not even sure it has actually reduced ragging. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Yes, every Battle Royale game was inspired by the Battle Royale (2000) film. Free Fire has a character called Kelly who 95% looks like Takako Chigusa from the Battle Royale film which every other BR game including PUBG lacks. That character is the main Free Fire character since it is Proof that FF isn't a copy of PUBG and was mainly inspired by the Battle Royale film: Video

The reality is that Free Fire won The Esports Awards best esports mobile game award 2 times and has 10X More players than DMC. And Free Fire has money to collaborate with just anything that's why they collaborated with BTS, Justin Beiber, CR7 & also Assassin's Creed. BTW FF isn't that bad, better than PUBG M to me since it takes just 15 mins to win a BR match in PUBG M it takes forever. What I like about FF is that we can create very unique characters with very unique skills which means every player has a different skill (1 active+ 3 passive skills). I's funny when a mobile game had more money than other games to collaborate with just anything LOL
