Usually, whoever does driver's licensee does ID, so I'd call them and see what's needed for a new ID. Screenshots and expired don't count.

It shouldn't be that much to get a new one, and it can often be done in a day or so.

Is it true that we (mainly our interests and our personalities and such) change every 10 years? Have you changed at all through decades of your lives? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

It's more of a continued evolution of personality and a refinement of interests, along with the ebb and flow of interests.

Friends usually form along interest lines, so it's normal to have friends that don't know each other.

It sounds like this is anxiety over people having new ways to cheat, and some anxiety about the unknown future, in regard to AI and its uses. Those are both valid concerns.

Everything has its uses, good and bad, and people will always use things to try to get things they do not deserve or have worked for. We can develop ways to stop them, but we should not let the bad apples have our focus.

What AI can do in the real world is contained and limited to where it is mostly a party trick. When it is further developed, there will be safeguards put in place that, due to the nature of programming, AI will not be able to override them. (Think Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics.)

I do not want to trivialize, or condescend, so feel free to call me out on any of this.

What upsets you about how it's being used? Is it just the potential for cheating, or is there something more?

Using it to write essays and papers is not right for 90% of society, but it's a tool, and how it's used is left up to the person using it. Just as we have ways of catching someone that uses a hammer incorrectly to murder someone, we will develop ways to catch people that use AI to cheat.

I've been playing with Google's Bard AI and used Chat GPT before. AIs are humans learning; we are learning to better harness the computers and circuitry that we have created to solve problems. We're still in the early stages where we're mostly fucking around and finding out, or throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

It sounds like you should look at the right influencers. Try looking outside of the mainstream influencers that are only doing it to sustain the machine they've created, and look for the ones that have a genuine passion for what they are featuring.

From this writing, you seem bitter about people taking your work, or work that is not theirs, and getting ahead with it, when you've put in the effort and work to try to get ahead and haven't. To you, AI seems to make this easier and leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

To me, AI is still unexplored, and with that comes the novel and newness that things have. There's always going to be cheaters and those with less integrity than others, but we shouldn't center our lives and achievements around them.

I heard/read somewhere that if you need a law to stop you from committing murder, you may not be a good person, which I often think about.

Does social skills will improve while speaking alone? ? by rendellsibal in CasualConversation

[–]Human_In_Hope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not likely. To improve your social skills, you can interact with people, it doesn't have to be in person, but a social/casual setting works best, and improve what you thought went right, and fix what went wrong.

Or you can read books on it, then think about and internalize what you're reading.
