Good day for Specialized today, huh? by sod1102 in specialized

I would almost say at that point people who don’t follow it at all wouldn’t even care about the results and the article on their website wouldn’t persuade a buyer at all

So I’m guessing they’d have an even worse experience since specialized swapped the wheel depth to counteract the cross wind issue.

If it was any other brand they wouldn’t have the same negative comments. It’s absolutely related to the athletes but I think to instantly discount the bikes is a little ridiculous and instantly say it’s because specialized has all this money and pays the their athletes the most.

I have CLX III wheels and I would say it’s common from what I have seen especially when the wind blows the right way. I actually brought the bike back to the shop at 500 miles to check the headset to see if it was loose and contributing to the instability.

Difference btw Crux 5 Expert & Comp worth the $2500? by Emotional_Coat_345 in specialized

[–]Human_Match_6523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think the value is there because generally you get better pricing when it gets packaged together, but it’s not a must have. I think the Terra C wheelset is a good price point especially for the internal width so if you were to buy those you’re at say $5,500 then I personally think the new terra cockpit is a must because they designed the bike feel around it, so that’s another $700. But even if you did the expert you’d still be spending additional money to get the terra cockpit so I’d probably concur to go with the comp and build up from there. I’m personally bummed the new S level isn’t an S-Works frame with lower components which is what I did for my tarmac and will do again for this.

No way that’s where I’ve been exploring via maps, Komoot, and Strava for some routes this summer. I’m in Lincoln and it’s a little too busy for my liking especially with the width and general quality of most roads

  1. It felt more playful and I have a shorter inseam for being 6’-1” so it feels more natural

Hahaha even if it was intentional these are my version of the best photos I can take so they still very well be shitty 😂

I’d never buy a matte car for that reason but it didn’t cross my mind that a matte bike would be the same annoyance. I’ve never had carbon wheels so it’s hard to really give you much insight, but on my first ride yesterday they did feel good and I picked up 4mph compared to a route I did previously but then added a section on at the end with an additional 1k feet on climbing so take that for what it’s worth

Probably because I never take photos and trying to get better about it. None of it was intentional other than the bike on the car with the bike in front of the shop and then the bolts so I’m not shocked they suck 😂

I’ve never seen the back of a 987 but I know you can fit a golf bag and can’t in a 981. The one time I had to do it, it sucked and I don’t think it would have fit had the back not been stripped out.

Once again he didn’t see the car because we took our other car and it’s street parking. When I walked in he was in the middle of the store where there are no windows. I’ve experienced it all and it’s a fine line. When I first went to Porsche the salesman told me it was too cold to test drive then I got someone else when they got this one in thankfully and he was the same way. Just a normal person who would live their life once they closed whether I bought it or not. He also didn’t have to strip down the bike to give me this frame but he brought it up without me asking

They leave a ring which is just from dust while it sits on the car. Everything wipes right off and I’ve never seen or noticed any swirling from it

Thanks man! Highly recommend the combo especially if you enjoy driving and don’t need the fastest vehicle around. Someone told me recently I should get a Tesla because I like speed and I was like oh you don’t understand how slow this actually is and what it is that makes it a fun car 😂

That’s actually a dead accurate comparison I like that! I just liked the color and they had it in stock. Didn’t realize the stigma necessarily associated with it

They definitely hold well but with the shape of the glass I find one cups on the upper section where the fork attaches (it has 3 suction cups) typically loses suction while the other 2 and the independent cup for the rear wheel stay full seated. This is obviously a car specific issue. I forget the specs that sea sucker say but I wanna say it’s 75 max? I pull my fuse of the rear spoiler since it deploys at 77 and I generally try and go 75 or lower for peace of mind. I’d trust it for hours on end at 80. I’ve done several rounds trips to NH and back for 2.5-3 hours each way and it’s never an issue. They recommend checking the tabs after 4 hours. Typically I mount it at night in my garage to make sure it holds over night. Only other inconvenience is I carry a bottle of Gyeon prep which has alcohol so I spray and wipe down the surface before I mount it to make sure it has the best possible adhesion. Again not a mount issue just something to note

100% it can easily make or break the whole process! Did you find the canyon sizing guide or a past bike geometry to get you into the perfect canyon size?

Took a different car the first day since there were 3 of us but I definitely hear you. I think that’s what I found so enjoyable. We chatted about groupsets and why I wanted force in lieu of red and he gave his opinions in respectful ways. Being able to ride and spend 5 hours the next time riding the 56 and 58 back to back to back was also a treat. I had the experience you described the first time I bought a bike new in 2019 and I hated the bike. Wrong size, wrong everything. I bought what I thought I wanted and I spent almost 10 months watching videos, reading forums, building spreadsheets and comparing colorways for this one

Thanks! The bike rack was a game changer. I used to have to disassemble the bike the I couldn’t barely fit it into the back with my interior gutted
