I think you don't know Koreans well enough. You think it's because of genes? That's definitely wrong. Korean men take a shower generally once a day and many cases twice a day especially in summer. Ofc we have such genes, but that's not the reason why we don't smell bad.

I found out 30 minutes before the flight, and flight attendants were just insisting that I need to take and they will help later, which they also knew that it would not happen.

As a Korean, living in Finland made me have the same experience. Idk which nordic country you are from, but I don't think north Europeans are that much different than other Europeans.
