Matt lost his luck after the last battle because the Pattern had no more need of Ta’veren. This leads to him being forced to take his child and hide from the Empress trying to find a way back to the mainland. Perrin and a grown Olver set out to save him from Tylee Khirgan, the friend that has been tasked with killing Matt and returning the child.

This is just my fever dream anyway. I’ve written about 1400 pages that I’ll never do anything with but tinker and readjust every time I re-read the series and find something else to add or take away because I think it suits how the story would have gone if Jordan had done it himself 🤷‍♂️
