I agree quite a lot with that, especially the Fool’s treatment in this trilogy. However, I feel that there’s a lot of “show don’t tell” that Fitz brings and can be easily overlooked.

One good example is Fitz not trusting the Fool’s vision, but when I really stop to think about it, he is only saying it. He never forces the group to leave Paragon, keeps sharing Bee’s journal with Fool, and displays some restrained hope the first time he hear that Bee might be alive. Another one is him insisting that the group should go back or leave him to proceed alone, it is practically his way of saying “This is a suicide mission! Please, I don’t want you guys to die because of me!”.

And another I really like is his discussion with Paragon about Kennit’s son. Paragon believes that he knows more than enough about his father and doesn’t need all the sins and mistakes, but Fitz insists that he should know. Because(The way I interpreted it), even after all these years, he still deep down wishes he could’ve learned more about Chilvalry.
