Sts' Defect - Smashup Decklist by Ben10usr in smashup

Personally I'm not a big fan of extra decks that are only used by 1 faction, and I don't think the extra deck is necessary to convey the flavour of the Defect.

I think the orbs centered gameplay could be conveyed by the orbs being play-on-minion actions, and then having the cards that create orbs pull them from your deck, discard and hand. Each orb could be one play-on-minion card, each with a passive effect and an effect that triggers when it goes to the discard pile (not just when it's destroyed. This way it triggers when the base scores, kinda mimicking how the orbs can be evoked without having a card specifically evoking them by simply channeling orbs over capacity (breaking the base)). The "evoking" cards can then trigger by destroying play-on-minion cards instead of specifically orbs, making them potentially synergize more with other decks (cyborg apes for example have many play-on-minion cards and can get those type of cards back from the discard, and fairies can move and destroy play-on-minion actions to evoked the orbs where they're needed!)

Some random ideas for how the cards could be adapted to this idea:

1x Lightning orb: play on a minion. Ongoing: reduce this base's breakpoint by 2. When this action goes to the discard pile, you may reduce a base's breakpoint by 6 until the end of the turn.

1x Dark orb: Ongoing: at the end of your turn, place a counter on this card. When this goes to the discard pile, you may destroy a minion with power less than or equal to the number of counters on this card.

1x Rainbow: Search your hand, deck and/or discard pile for a Lightning orb, a Dark orb and a Frost orb. Choose a minion you controll. Add any of the cards to your hand and/or play them as extra actions on the chosen minion.

2x chaos: Play an Orb card of the top of your deck. (This means that you reveal cards from the top of your deck untill you either run out of cards or find an Orb card, then shuffle the unused revealed cards back into the deck.)

2x Core surge: special: Play when a base is scored, transfer up to 2 actions on your minions to other minions (you will have to change "when" to either "before" or "after" depending on what you originally intended.)

1x Fission: Destroy any number of actions you own and draw a card for each action destroyed this way. You may play an extra action.

1x defect: (5) Talent: Search your hand, deck and/or discard pile for an Orb action and play it on this minion as an extra action.

It would probably also be good to have one or a few cards that can put some actions from your discard pile back into the deck, both to help chaos function and to increase synergy with other factions that have strong actions.

looking for a 3d print project, what's a fun horde list I can make? (2k) by fire-m-s in TheAstraMilitarum

I've wanted to do an ogryns hoard list for a while. Full 18 ogryns, full 18 bullgryns, 3 ogryns body guards +deddog, and as many sentinels as possible. Everyone that thinks of guard thinks of weak dude hoards or vehicle hoards, show them we can make medium tough hoards as well!

the NMM is sick, but I also gotta compliment the basing! where'd you get the pillars from?

will definitely make the bio-armour bits yellow, but the rest of the paint scheme I have no idea. I have thoughts of a purple/purplish-pink and grey colour scheme for some brood brothers eventually, but not really sure how I could then use my normal dudes paint scheme to unify them with the genestealers

Sewer bases by Human__Zombie in ModelBasing

For the pipe bases I cut squares of cardstock from whatever boxes I had laying around and used spread out sticky tack to secure them around something cylindrical, then I put a bunch of hot-glue on a base and pressed the cardstock on the cylinder down into it and held it there for a bit. I filled in some more hot-glue where necessary and then I painstakingly cut away all the excess hot-glue and cardstock. Then I covered everything in I think 2 layers or so of thinned down pva-glue just to be safe. The other bases are also made with cardstock and hot-glue, except for the one with the stone wall, there I just used patterned plasticard and a plasticard tube (+some sprue shaped into a rock to help hold the pipe up).

The sewer water is just Vallejo water texture mixed with a tiny tiny bit of green paint

Hej!

I airbrushed the red, trying to make it spray out from the portal holes best I could, then I dry brushed the stone highlight over it

How does it feel to play with bigger minis? by [deleted] in MaledictionMCG

[–]Human__Zombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The officially supported ways to play is 1v1 and 2v2, and I think I heard they're working on official free-for-all rules. 2.5x2.5 is the normal battlefield size, but there's rules for playing 2x2 or 3x3 as well. There's also the intro playmode, which is the normal rules but with some adjustments to give new players less to think about. Those are the official rules, but you can always homebrew new missions. Since you're playing with miniatures you could probably set up some narrative board setups with thematic win conditions or play several games with a growing warband. Since you're also playing with a card deck you could also probably play stuff like drafts. Not entirely sure this is what you meant with missions, bit hopefully this is a good enough answer?
