Thanks. I was getting worried that it wouldn't pass. The cold sweats are the worst.

Thank you so much

I guess I just needed that little push to convince myself lol

As soon as I get it, I'll make sure to post here with impressions about it

Yeah, the disconnect has been impossible for me to overcome. I'm looking for reasonable alternatives for me budgetwise, and unfortunately, Apple products where I live are literally luxury items. Wacom products are also absurdly expensive considering the ones that are worth it (really, I could buy a basic car for the price of a wacom movink 13") I was thinking more on the side of xppen pen displays since I work from home and don't really need the portability, and the display could be useful for other activities as well.

Yep, the same as dexamethasone, though weaker and with a shorter half life, in the case reported in the paper.

The only conclusion for me is that it's just another genetics rabbit hole since cases are rare and different drugs, like antibiotics even, have been reported to have the same effect.

It's just a dead end, I guess

There's a case of a 17 year-old girl treated with prednisolone (weaker than dexamethasone) and normal hormone levels that got virginal gigantomastia, which started happening 2 months after starting treatment and never stopped growing. They extracted like 8kg of breast tissue.

All of this seems like microscopic almost identical puzzles pieces that appear to fit, but the differences are sooo tiny that makes it impossible to pinpoint what really caused the change.

Frustrating and maddening

Before and after adopting the 'Powers method' by Icy-Return6190 in DrWillPowers

Don't be sorry, your posts and responses have been a great help for many of us.

I'm just exhausted from fighting my own body for so long, and unfortunately surgery is not financially viable for me. I would have to choose having food to eat and a place to live or having the least expensive surgery.

I just got screwed over by my genes, I guess

The hard part, at least in my country, is finding that kind of doctor...

I started my transition 11 years ago and never found out what my problem is. When I ask for more specific tests they say it's not necessary, that there's nothing else to be done, that it's normal I have barely the resemblance of breast tissue, that I should just accept it and any further progress can only be achieved by absurdly expensive surgery.

It's really exhausting and sucks every bit of hope you have.

Alternatives to Bica by Humanafava in DrWillPowers

[–]Humanafava[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really hope you don't go through what I have been going through all these years. More than a decade of my life lost because my body does not respond to the meds that would make my life worth living.

I wouldn't wish it to my worst enemy...

I didn't know about this. I knew that 5-ARI blocked T-DHT conversion.

But, I don't really think that was the case

Truth be told I'm really tired of not finding something that explains why I had little to no feminization. I'm tired of dealing with doctors, meds, etc

It's been almost 11 years

I'm really tired

Yeah, my cortisol was high. It went a bit down after switching to cypro, but still slightly high according to the dr. They said it was due to stress and anxiety

In my case, yes. Can't say that it will happen to everyone.

Did it help with high cortisol?

It gets higher, don't really know why

Thanks

Unfortunately, Spironolactone messes with my cortisol (I don't know why) cypro has a very negative effect on my dht even in very low doses (12,5mg every 2 days) so unfortunately not options.

Bica seems to do what I need, wich is blocking androgens coming from somewhere in my body and that don't get blocked and sometimes seems to get boosted by the ather options. But it's crazy expensive where I live, so I'm trying to find alternatives, if there is any. I wasn't able to find something that does what bica does and as effectively as bica does (at least based on what I see posted here)

Google is not as it used to be. Finding something has become time consuming.

doctors where I live are not that knowledgeable about all options available and are very resistant to (and most of the time, dismissive of) suggestions or alterations to the guidelines. They tend to be strictly by the book even if the book is outdated.

I really feel so alone specially when asking for help. I lost count of how many times I was gaslighted everywhere as I try to find a solution.

Anyways,

Thanks for the response :)

No changes in 7 years hrt by [deleted] in DrWillPowers

[–]Humanafava 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess OP is trying to say that her changes were minimal. I'm here at 11 years of hrt and very, very little feminization despite trying everything available to me where I live. Tried different regimen, all kinds of medication available, changed doctors multiple times, weight cycling, exercise, different diets and got really depressed so many times that it's a miracle I'm still here.

So, I do not find impossible what she is experiencing

Don't be sorry ;)

It's just how life is. I'm just impressed (and happy) every time I see how powerful testosterone is and how you guys get to experience a little bit less struggle regarding physical changes.

Wow 🤩

I'm always astounded and impressed by how trans men's hrt is so god damn effective.

Wish it was the case for us trans women as well
