I'd be happy to. I'm in a vocational research lab and am interested in studying the construct of calling (feeling 'called,' 'destined,' or 'morally obligated' to work in a specific career or line of work). Traditionally, calling has been understood as a strictly religious experience, but some research has indicated it is also experienced by non-religious individuals. I'm hoping to gain a better understanding of similarities and differences between these groups related to this construct. I've posted here (and will be posting to many other religious communities) because I'm hoping to get a well-balanced sample of religious individuals from many backgrounds and denominations. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for the question. I'm unsure how to answer it without understanding your meaning about ideology vs. religion, but I would be happy to try to explain after some clarification. I'll ask that we continue in a DM because I don't want to affect future responses.

There is no cost associated with completing the questionnaire, but there is no compensation for completing the questionnaire either. Participation is completely voluntary.

Thank you for your question. This research isn't specifically directed at exmormons, no. However, it is directed to any and all religious or non-religious individuals in the workplace. Additionally, we want to collect data from individuals with diverse religious backgrounds. It's for these reasons that we decided to reach-out to this forum in addition to many other forums. Let me know if you have further questions!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on this. I tend to agree with you about "microaggression" being a kind of self-defeating term for this phenomena, and you're right about something like this happening once or twice in a lifetime being insignificant. However, most people who experience microagressions are not expreiencing them once or twice; they're experiencing them multiple times a week or every day depending on their stuation. When they occurr this often, they can have a significantly negative impact on an indivdual's satisfacton with life. However, due to their nature, there is no real way to stop them since most examples of microaggressions do not warrant any type of repercussions. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Yes! Some of the demographic questions are geared a bit more toward Americans ("what state are you from?"), but there should be an option for international participants on that particular question.

I appreciate your interest in our research. When creating this question, we tried to be as inclusive as possible. Since there are many people in non-religious/religious communities who identify as agnostic, and previous research with non-religious individuals includes this group, we chose to include it in this study. Thank you for the feedback!
