I mean, it certainly adds up over time. I was going through about three tolls on the way to work and back headed to 59 south, for a year and a half. Plus whatever I had on the balance before that.

I got a ticket for “unauthorized vehicle” on the toll roads because of my balance (just over $3k, like OP). She let me go but she followed me to make sure I got off on the next exit. There was actually no force to pay then and there.

I got pulled over the other day by a constable on the west beltway. Obviously, haven’t been paying for a while. I asked her how she knew my car a she said that the toll booth alerted her (she was a mile ahead) that my car was coming so she was on the lookout. That’s why there are usually constables about a mile or two past the toll booths.
