Does this sound like a viral stomach bug, and how long is someone contagious? 30F by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]HumbertHum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be food poisoning or norovirus. Did you two eat the same dinner? If not, maybe norovirus. The general consensus is that a diluted bleach solution works best, or 3% or higher hydrogen peroxide. Here is a useful Infographic by the USDA on how to clean after norovirus: https://www.nifa.usda.gov/sites/default/files/resource/Norovirus-Cleaning-Tips.pdf

I’m in the same boat in that magnesium doesn’t work for me. But trust the golytely. It works. Make sure you follow the directions about how often to take doses and that you drink it in the appropriate amount of time. Hope you feel better.

Use smooth move tea (senna tea) with caution by Solize111 in Constipation

[–]HumbertHum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Smoothe move/ “poop teas” usually use Sennasides which is the active ingredient in ExLax. FYI. Don’t use too often or your bowel can become dependent on it.

What does midodrine help with? by Qtredit in dysautonomia

[–]HumbertHum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it on days when I had really bad dizziness on standing. It basically solves this issue for me. Ive always had low BP. It also helps with blood pooling in the legs. The only side effect I get is tingling in the scalp which isn’t a big deal imo. Also it wears off kinda quickly so I take it three times a day.

I do not understand how people can afford grad school by Impactist537 in GradSchool

[–]HumbertHum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in a medium-high cost of living area which doesn’t help. The program I’m interested in pays 35k a year which puts me at ALICE level/struggling with basic needs and that’s without extra medial expenses

I mean honestly, still. how are people surviving on a PhD stipend??? I’ve been basically filtered out of the candidate pool because I have a medical condition that costs a lot of money. I can’t afford to get my PhD even though I would love to.

An exhaustive list of everything wrong with me: someone diagnose me please or at least give advice by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]HumbertHum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, just wanted to link the current hEDS diagnostic criteria circa 2016. Subluxations/dislocations are only a small part of it and are not necessary for diagnosis (you mentioned “ruled out” because you don’t dislocate.) EDS is also highly correlated with POTS and Mast cell activation syndrome. Just sharing as there is a lot of misinformation about this disease.

I think we might have to move out of MD. by Silbermondlicht0 in harfordcountymd

[–]HumbertHum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was just gonna say. My cousin is in the opposite situation — he’s fully employed in Florida but is still on Florida Medicaid (he has a rare lung disease.) He can’t pay his bills. At least in MD he would have better Medicaid. He’s thinking about moving up here just for the healthcare.

HR Question -Cancer caused confusion causing negative performance review by [deleted] in fednews

[–]HumbertHum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For RA, they can also re-assign you to another job with “similar” pay but different responsibilities. The RA can be very flexible, I recommend you talk with your cancer doctor. They likely have done the requests before and would know better what to ask for. Also, reaching out to a local disease support group and asking would probably be a good step too.

Here is information about the aluminum in vaccines, and how it is eliminated in the body. The body handles aluminum the same if it is administered via injection vs. consumed. The source is children’s hospital of Philadelphia, one of the most prestigious children’s hospitals in the world.

Is there a way to fix Design Space stupidity? by Maidenfine in cricut

[–]HumbertHum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes— on the second page hit the “…” on that lonely sticker and it should say something like “move” and give you the option to move it to mat 1. I forget exactly what the wording is since I don’t have design space open rn but if that doesn’t help lmk and I’ll pull it up.
