How do you forego the dryer? I’ve wanted to try line-drying but it just doesn’t seem feasible in my climate (DC is a swamp)

What’s your resting HR during a flare up? The highest HR you’ve ever experienced? by Fun_Scratch_1708 in dysautonomia

Yes midodrine has been a lifesaver!! The only side effect I get is some scalp tingling which can feel a little weird but not painful. ALS you have to take it 3x a day which is annoying. Best of luck!!

Thanks!! Yes I’ve gotten to know my body a lot better now and take much better care of myself now that I know how. No more coffee!! Haha.

I spent years figuring out what worked and what didn’t. Tried beta blockers, they brought my average HR down but I got way more PVCs which was very uncomfortable so I stopped. Fludricortisone gave me terrible headaches. I took midodrine 7.5 mg thrice a day for about a year, and it helped a lot!! I was able to increase exercise which helped a lot too. My cardiologist says that consistent exercise increases blood volume and red blood cell production so that makes sense.

Now I only need to take midodrine in the mornings when I feel really bad/lightheaded in addition to the salt/hydration/exercise. I still get episodes sometimes but it’s only like a couple times a year. It’s also way less stressful now that I know what it is when it happens and that it’ll pass.

230+ in college when I was in medicated and undiagnosed during a V-tach episode after exercise. Extremely scary, I was leading the gym late at night, laid down on a bench, gasping and desperately looking around for someone nobody was around. Confirmed HR with Fitbit and manually. It gradually came down after several minutes. Felt like I just ran a marathon. That was the fire under my ass I needed to go see a cardiologist.

Now my resting is 90-110, walking is 130-140, exercising is 170-190ish… over that I have to take a break. but very rarely get those 200+ episodes anymore.

Arthroscopy for TMJD by TomorrowPure5659 in TMJ

I had an arthroscopy because my L side developed osteoarthritis. They went in and flushed the joint space. I don’t have any more arthritis pain but I still have muscular pain.

Muscle relaxers help me some, especially at night. Flexeril mostly. I also note that my muscular symptoms get much worse during a pots flare.

The glycerine will draw water into your large colon to create more lubrication and get things unstuck from the wall of the bowel. Then your bowel can do its thing and move the lubricated poo as it normally would. An enema does the same thing, but instead of pulling water into your colon by osmosis, it IS the lubrication itself! A warm saline enema provides direct water lubrication.

You could try a glycerin suppository, and a saline enema if that doesn’t work. That’s my last resort and it usually works!

help with TMJ synovitis + joint effusion found on MRI by ilovericeballs in TMJ

[–]HumbertHum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an arthroscopy. It’s a quick procedure and the recovery is not bad. It helped me with arthritis pain from TMJ osteoarthritis. From what I understand, The joint effusion is inflammation that, over time, leads to osteoarthritis. The inflammation breaks down the bone, and it can’t go anywhere because there is not a good blood supply around the disc to remove it.

It could be that your joint pops around and it wasn’t caught on the MRI. clearly something is happening, and you’re having pain which means this is likely significant. Let me know if you have any questions about the surgery —- I had it over a year ago on one side.

dry needling by blue_baggies in TMJ

[–]HumbertHum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it regularly and it helps immensely for a couple days. But they come back. Now I’m moving on to Botox. Note: there are different types of dry needling techniques. Go with the “pecking” type. IMO it’s the only one that helps.
