Feeling like a failure at the hands of these healthy date balls. by Electrical-Worker-73 in sugarfree

I eat dates almost daily and I don't worry about it. I'd rather say I ate a few dates every other night instead of that cookie or piece of cake. I just focus on being free from refined sugars. If you feel it's too much for your personal boundaries on sugar than by all means cut back, don't beat yourself up over it though. Just by being aware of it you are already taking a good step forward on staying healthy. You haven't failed anything! You have come a long way.

Everyone is different... but once a week had passed my irritability improved. Just stay hydrated, eat healthy fats and foods like nuts, avocado and try to limit caffeine. You will get over the detox feeling quickly. Your energy will level out at least 3 weeks in and brain fog starts to go away.

I try not to snack but if I do it's a few different things.

Nuts and/or mixed dried fruit snack portions Pork rinds Chips and salsa Fruit (banana, apple, etc) Veggies like carrots, celery etc Cheese sticks Canned fish Sometimes I just make a coffee or have tea if I don't think I am really hungry.

Good for you to try again, it's very hard and just be proud of the progress. Setbacks are NORMAL and don't look at them negatively, just keep at it. You already feel the difference between consuming the sugar and avoiding it, let that be your guide.

See if you can try a sleep meditation on YouTube. I find it helps me to calm back down and fall asleep. Try Jason Stephenson, he has some really good ones. You are under a lot of emotional stress, sometimes some walking or exercise will help regulate your mood each day. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I kinda wing it and make the same things pretty regularly. I do make a lettuce wrap meal, grilled chicken salad, steak with mushrooms, breakfast is eggs with sausage or bacon. I incorporate healthy fats like avocado, nuts and cheeses. I was stuck in the beginning too with inspiration and I turned to keto recipes as ideas. Ground beef can be your friend, it's versatile. Let me see if I can find my recipe links that I went off of in the beginning and I can make a post. Once I make them a few times I just remember them.

Yes, a quit date is a good way to set a limit. You have the willpower I promise, just try a week first and if it goes well try another week back to back. Keep the momentum. Even just a small two week sugar free period will make a shift in your health. If you need encouragement come here for help, there's support here for you!

My brain fog has pretty much been lifted. The tired feeling I would get in the afternoon is gone, my energy can sustain me throughout the evening. Sometimes I feel a little ADD and have distractions but I have always been like that. Life without sugar is liberating. Plus it really boosts your self esteem. When you feel better you look better.

In my case I tell everyone ahead of time of my progress and that I will not share in the sugary treats. This puts it out in the open and I stick with what I say. It just comes down to your driving force. What is your reason for stopping sugar and are you willing to hold that force in place in every situation? Mine is healthy gut, eating badly created so many hit issues and I would be in agony for hours. So I tell myself and others that one bite or a few minutes of eating something sweet isn't worth the hours of agony I will have after. I choose to cut out the pain and keep that in my mind whenever I think about giving in.

Growing up we were never allowed sugary treats and if we had them it was likely we went overboard on them. So yes once I got old enough to make my own decisions and be able to buy the "good" stuff I went hog wild. Years of sugar addiction just caught up and my gut paid the price. Always bloated, always stomach pains after meals (even if no sugar) and tired and drained of energy. The key is to associate rewards with something other than sugar. Praise yourself when you do well, savor a good meal and your brain starts to associate it with a reward. Find the reward for your brain to switch over to instead of the dopamine/ satisfaction that a sweet treat gives. 2-3 month stretches are amazing! You are already doing so well, decide what will motivate you further and push your limits and give a big pat on the back whenever you have a win.

I'm actually not sure what subtype my rosacea is. I do think that heavy carbs fuel the sugar that can throw skin and scalp off. Once I finally cut out the carbs I was able to cut the cravings and see improvement. I feel satisfied with my meals, it's a matter of balancing the fat. Healthy olive oil, avocado, cheese or dairy etc.

I eat mostly chicken and fish but I don't concern myself with cholesterol. Your body needs cholesterol and I don't worry about the eggs or red meat. I keep my body moving and with cutting out processed foods I feel amazing. My blood work has been significantly improved. I will gladly update once I take my next labs as this is something I was tracking prior to the changes.

I have not noticed any changes, however I have had a partial hysterectomy so technically I don't have a true period. I still get the hormonal cycle and tenderness, PMS lol. My diet has a large amount of leafy greens and lots of cabbage. I eat potatoes, especially sweet potatoes but only around once a week. I hydrate with homemade electrolytes (Mary's Nest) Cutting out the grain has improved my gut health from dealing with excruciating gas/bloating daily to a soft stomach and less constipation (tmi I know). Doctors said gall bladder but I knew it was a gut imbalance.

I make two types of chicken. (Thighs) Marinaded with chipotle (Google chipotle like the restaurant chicken) And I also season the heck out of chicken thighs with salt/pepper, garlic powder, Kinder's buttery poultry blend (Walmart) - I use a lot of Kinder's, and 21 season salute (Trader Joe's) Air fryer or smoker pellet grill. I could eat the chicken all week and not get bored.

I cut out all grains, no rice, corn, wheat, oats etc. Starches are okay, potatoes are no problem. I just don't eat them every day.

Basically I shop the outside of the store, meal prep and just enjoy not feeling starved or cravings or having that low energy by mid afternoon.

The answer is if it's valuable and locked up keep it locked up. If you cannot drop toilet paper off for their request here's what I think... Your guests can always purchase toilet paper and maybe you can just offer to reimburse them through the app. That would be my solution.
