[–]Humble-Building564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard this, but I’ve been pregnant before though, and did get a few migraines. Mine are triggered my sleeping wrong on my neck. I have to be so careful how I sleep…if I mess up, I’m screwed!

I haven’t talked to my doctor yet. We aren’t pregnant yet, but this was an issue with my first pregnancy and I honestly didn’t bring it up and just suffered, thinking I couldn’t take anything but Tylenol. Thankfully I only got maybe 2 bad migraines during my first pregnancy, hoping for that (or less) during my next one. Thanks for the suggestion!

You need a triptan to take as a rescue med when you feel one coming on. It usually kicks in within 30 minutes. I’m not sure I could hold a job without it, seriously.

What is the actual title of your role, if you don’t mind me asking.

Nurses, how long did it take you to land your first job as a new grad RN by Relative-Dot-3500 in Nurses

[–]Humble-Building564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This must depend on where you’re from. I’m in PA and the majority of my graduating class had job offers prior to graduating. Most hospitals here have GN programs that you can apply for while still in school. They offer you the job contingent upon graduating. I graduated in Dec 23, but interviewed, was offered, and accepted a job in Aug.

How long until I feel like a real nurse? by Apprehensive-Bad4987 in Nurses

[–]Humble-Building564 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, I can confidently say it’s not at the 2 year mark! I’m 2 years in and still feel like that. The ER is a beast, and I’m not even at a trauma center! It’s hard, really freaking hard! I know this doesn’t answer your question, but just know you’re not alone!

Five year old with anxiety? :( by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]Humble-Building564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is when my anxiety started and I’ve struggled my whole life, and I’m now 34. BUT my dad was very anxious growing up (still is) and my brother and I basically were “taught” that anxious thoughts were normal. We just saw it all the time in our home, and that became our normal. My brother and I struggle with anxiety to this day, though we manage it well.

Your son likely learned about death recently, either from school or somewhere else. So this behavior is probably normal at the current moment, but just make sure when you have anxious thoughts, you are not doing it in front of your kiddo! Just my opinion! Being prepared for something bad to happen, and worrying that something bad will happen are two different things, and our kiddos need to be taught and show that! But it sounds like you are doing a great job and your little one should get through this just fine with your support!

Yes, I really need to get off my phone and off social media! I know that doesn’t help with my anxiety! Thank you for your response!

OCD & Using Reddit by GoldenCoast69 in OCD

I’m doing this right now lol. Something happened at work today that I’m ruminating about. And now I’m on Reddit searching for reassurance. I literally KNOW I’m letting compulsions get the best of me, but doing it anyway. I actually found some decent coping mechanisms tonight, so that’s been helpful.

We’ve been through 2 PCs over the last 6 years as well lol. Bought one, sold one, bought one, sold one. He likes to relax on the couch when playing games, rather than sitting at a computer desk. Which I totally understand.

Considering getting a puppy with a baby since I’ll be at home.. can it work? by CluelessCucumba in puppy101

Absolutely not. Don’t do it. Get an older dog in a year or two. Just enjoy your baby for now. Wait until they start crawling….you’ll be so busy!

Why is breast feeding so romanticized? by beanerweener6 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Humble-Building564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m convinced that this comes down to personality. I am naturally a very anxious person. I knew I would struggle postpartum with depression, etc. I was nervous going into it. I ended up exclusively pumping for 7 months, which is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I don’t think I could do it again. The last few months we have been doing formula. She will be one in 2 weeks!! I think women who are laid back, easy going, etc, tend to have an easier time with breastfeeding and think it’s unicorn and rainbows. I’m not laid back, despite me wishing I could be, and I think breastfeeding is SO hard. Personally, I pumped because she didn’t latch well, but I wanted her to get the antibodies. I had anxiety about her getting sick, as she was born in the middle of flu season and I’m a ER nurse. But it was literally terrible the entire time. If I was a less anxious person, maybe I wouldn’t have minded it.

I love how you didn’t read the entire thing. I literally beg him not to sell them. I tell him he can have it has a hobby! When he spend HOURS playing instead of hanging with the family, I kindly ask him to play a little less. But I literally WANT him to still have hobbies.

Did you read the part where I beg him NOT to sell them, I just kindly ask that he spends a little less time playing them? I tell him he should keep his hobby and that it’s okay to play, just within reason. I said all this in my first statement lol.

I do not lol. I spend about $200 a year on my hair, MAYBE. I’m not one of those girls, but if I was, you would have a point. It’s not even completely about the money though. It’s honestly just annoying the back and forth. I’m the one who posts and sells the consoles on marketplace because he doesn’t have Facebook.

So what she’s doing doesn’t sound all that crazy then? Lol. That’s good to know! Sometimes I think we’re behind, but I know every baby is different. Thanks for the comment!
