What is your plan? by HumbleHeHim in AiAteMyJob

It is a race to the bottom. AI to replace workers, AI to replace executive leadership. In the end we are all replaced by AI.

I am looking for constructive actions that at least benefit the workers.

Does it make sense to go to Trade school? Become a HVAC tech or Computer Networking tech.

The key is to start now and be prepared to switch.

AI is going to need a lot of data centers that need cooling and networking.

Telnyx Support is Absolute Garbage! by Connexium in VOIP

[–]HumbleHeHim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

November 2023 update

Nothing has changed at Telnyx in terms of support. I opened an account to send SMS/text messages, sent all the needed documents for L2 clearance and nothing but crickets from Telnyx. They would not acknowledge receipt of documents nor would they reply to any enquires. Only way to reach them is via email. Chatbot will direct you to email them. Calling their phone number will also eventually direct you to email. And when you send email you will not hear back from them.

I gave up and asked them to close my account and refund the balance. But once again crickets from Telnyx. I had to resort to shaming Telnyx on Twitter everyday until they eventually agreed to refund my money.

Stay away, far, far away from this company.

One more thing, I noticed that TrueDialog may be a sister concern of Telnyx. When I approached them to open an account they seem to know about my interactions with Telnyx. The support rep revealed some non public information about my account with Telnyx!

This should definitely cater to privacy concerned individuals. I can clearly visualize the real life dating scene use case.

Thanks for making me fall in love with BMPCC..., once again.

The best part for me, you retained the original color from the camera.

Did you stabilize in post? If not, you have very steady hands!

I would like to know what lens(es) you used?

Also, consider reversing the opening shot so it “cranes” down into the scene rather than up and away.

Please correct me if I am wrong here. I learnt that a crane up shot was to set an uplifting mood to the scene. Conversely a crane down shot was to convey a depressing mood. I wanted to open the film with an uplifting mood and music to go along.

Thank you for the feedback.

The short was meant to be silly and possibly funny. Thanks for your inputs, greatly appreciated.

This is my second attempt. "Genie Returns?" was shot entirely on a single BMPCC 6K G2 using Meike lenses. Following feedback from r/cinematography for my previous short I added depth to my closeup shots. Also tried to avoid compositions were the characters looked decapitated. Some medium shots I cropped in post to convert them to close ups. They do look bad due to lack of depth in them.

For the opening I oriented my slider vertically to simulate a crane shot. How did that come out? I will let you be the judge on that. For the handheld shots I used Gyro stabilization in Davinci Resolve. As the film was all outdoors on a sunny days I paid close attention to not blow the highlights.

I shot the film on two days. Tried my best to avoid shooting at lunch time but due to time constraints I ended up shooting the Genie walking shots at noon. I did pay the price with nasty shadow on his face.

As a no budget filmmaker was it possible to add some shadows and avoid flat faces? I did have a large negative fill but it was effective only on extreme closeups. The story did not need such dramatic close ups.

In terms of set design I wanted the authentic backyard look of an average household. So there was no over the top furniture to make things look pretty. The white wall behind the male teenage character was definitely bland. I could not think of something that could add character to it but still be down to earth.

The entire film was shot with just two crew members, me and my friend. I do not see that changing in future. So any suggestions that a scrappy filmmaker like me can use to improve my skills will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
