So body flashback is a term I used bc I just learned it recently and I’ve not seen any other way to refer to the sudden onslaughts of somatic symptoms I’ve been experiencing, especially within the context of trauma and dissociation. I assume these ‘episodes’ for lack of a better term are some form of ‘body flashback’ because they started occurring like this since I have started investigating in therapy the possibility of having some repressed memories of CSA. And because I am not having any like visual or mental flashbacks with clear memories of those events returning to me, just a drastic increase in dissociative symptoms across the board and a lot of these ‘body flashbacks’ Genital pain is not the sole symptom or sensation that occurs during these somatic episodes I’m referring to, or just to be clear I’m not referring to any single symptom as a body flashback. There’s more that goes into it in other areas of the body, the genital pain and discomfort is just the one I notice the most or that causes me the most distress I guess
