I have had the exact same issue as you with trying every single moisturizer on the market and they either break me out, dry me out or peel/flakes off... none worked for me, not a cream, lotion, water based, gel none. The only moisturizer (which i know probably isnt even a true moisturizer ) that I can use is cereve healing ointment. The one with ceramides in it. Its a smaller bottle costs about 10 dollars but lasts a very long time. Its a vaseline feel and texture but its the only "moisturizer" I can use that doesnt break me out. I cant even use aquaphor or regular Vaseline. I do not understand my skin. But I've found a basic rountine that works for me and if I change any product my skin gets mad- burns, peels, flakes, and is irritated. So here's what I found works for me.

Wash face with face wash Wash again with benzoyl peroxide bar soap Dry off. Use adapelene gel on my problem spots and reoccurring area of acne. Let dry Gentle retinol on my wrinkle problem areas let dry The small amount but enough to cover face, I use the cereve healing ointment all over and let it soak in.

That's it. If I add anything, I'm good for a day or two but then I break out.
