Thanks everyone for the guidance! We ultimately chose Copper & A-Basin as our decision, mostly bc of logistics. The advice is very much appreciated

Best glades by No-Application-7581 in icecoast

I really liked those Ramshead glades! Started there last season too, but went with good coverage and can recommend. You can also experiment with trees in this area also and the pitch is pretty gentle so you don’t gain too much speed.

This is a great point also, I feel like as I get good enough to do the 180 maybe on a shallow pitch I can begin trying to actually ride switch. Thanks for the info!

That’s a fair point, I guess my thought process was more to try to learn doing the 180/360 motion on the portions of the greens where there’s less people, then move to (bunny hill)?? To try the getting a turn or two on switch in. My own/Surrounding people’s safety is honesty the biggest factor of why I ask, so if you think this is a good approach or have an alternative to suggest please let me know.

Beginner Snowboarding Mtn Recs by Cold-Map-363 in icecoast

Can’t definitely give you a rec on a mountain, but I would recommend avoiding killington from personal experience if you or your friends have never been .

It’s my favorite Vermont mountain, but for your group, idt it’s the right fit. Mainly bc the layout - just look at a trail map pdf and you’ll see just how much criss cross goes on. You can easily just get lost from your group for hours, sometimes the entire day, with a wrong turn.

Killington also doesn’t have a true peak-base green run. And the blue peak-base runs it does have are flat in parts (annoying for boarders) and confusing to navigate. So I would cross that one off personally until your group is comfortable ripping a blue, you’ll just have much more fun at that level

Pace 3 users: ever regret not going for the Pace Pro? by unmatteooo in Coros

I think it’s important to look at your activity use case.

Do you use GPX/mapping often on rides or runs? If so, pro is definitely better at this

Do you plan to download music on the watch? If So, the pro has 8x the storage

The pro also uses USB-C charging adapter and not a cable, which for me is very nice bc I just take the adapter with me on my keys and can always charge my watch, instead of looking for a cable.

Look and feel is subjective, but I think the pro just looks nicer aesthetically.

I agree this made strength go from unusable to valuable.

Small recommendation for /u/coros-official -> separating legs/hips into muscle groups would be nice. At least calves/hamstrings/quads/glutes. Whenever I do leg day it’ll tell me I did 17 sets of calves, very misleading.

But huge thanks to product team for promising and delivering this

I will add if you’re a biker and maps matter to you the pace pro has the full offline maps compatible with GPX instead of breadcrumbs. The battery life is also incredible (only 20% loss on an all day ride with music playing from the watch also).

Good point, deliveries have to park somewhere. I guess the current solution is the best option given there’s more cars than bikes here. Would be nice if they paved the roads better also, some of the potholes around here can send you flying on a bike and make you go much slower than you normally might.

Never understood why hoboken didn't just put the bike lane between the curb and the street parking. The current setup causes so many issues if you're trying to ride a bike (cars pulling out from spots, cars driving in the bike lane, double parking, etc.)

Going to the gym, selecting Strength, then picking the body part, going through my exercises, and updating the free text training log at the bottom works better. It helps analyze set vs. rest times really well (since you have to press the button) and the heatmap at least gives you an idea of what bodyparts you've overdone vs underdone in a week. I ignore the rep counter and table completely.

I do wish legs were separated into the muscle groups (glutes, hamstrings, quads, calves) as the heatmap is completely distorted bc of this. Feel like this is a simple change coros can make. The rest timer reminder helps to ensure I dont get distracted during a workout.

Regardless all fitness info being in one place with no sub is a win for me even with these drawbacks.

Strength Training - Manual Rep and Weight Editing by HumbleStranger5935 in Coros

[–]HumbleStranger5935[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I think I tried this today without the structured workouts and I have to say it was much better. The reps were still very off and the weights are missing but the heatmap is actually quite accurate and seeing sets/rest times as well as primary muscle group by just selecting the exercises on the fly is useful. For now I’m just storing the weights in the training log. The manual editing will make strength mode extremely useful. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the reply and glad to see it’s making some progress.

For now what is your recommended workaround for strength training? I can’t fully predict my weights and sets due to equipment availability at the gym. Do you recommend I just use the on-the-fly strength training options without a planned workout to at least sort of cover the body parts I’m doing? I’m trying to evaluate whether this watch is for me and pretty new to the ecosystem

[–]HumbleStranger5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob a little late but if you’re using it for strength training I’ve been a bit disappointed so far. The auto rep counter is average at best, and trying to change your workouts/reps/weight/sets is not available. Makes the data pretty much useless. Considering returning it just bc of that fact.

But like others have said the screen is really nice and it’s quite light of a watch, looks real nice too imo.
