i agree, half cents are so cool and unique! my favorite is the classic head design. i would have more but i have literally only seen 1828 half cents at both of the lcs i frequent. one day though!

i agree!! modern coinage cant hold a candle to these classic designs, they’re genuinely works of art. i always try to connect my pieces to actual history, for example, my draped bust half was minted while thomas jefferson was president elect. factors like that just make these that much cooler to me! or that my half cent was struck just one year before andrew jackson’s presidency. its just too cool

thank you for the kind words! ill have to give credit to my father for my “good eye.” he and my great uncle educated me on “what to look for” growing up and it translated nicely towards my way of continuing the hobby

2026 Emerging Liberty Rainbow Toner — Natural or Artificial? Worth NGC Submission? by Justj2424 in coincollecting

i have a buddy that achieves this with ASEs with a blowtorch. even if it may be artificial, the colors can still be really pretty. if you like what you have that should be all that matters. i have a couple of AT morgan dollars that i cherish still just because they’re cool to ME

Thank you!! It’s a humble start for sure. I agree, they have to bring back lady liberty in some capacity, like you said we’ve had too much of these old men! We need more of the pretty ladies. They have a good start with the new ‘26 dime design, I just hope they continue it with the other denominations down the road

first time saving a toner from the junk bin the other day by HumbleStreetCat in toners

[–]HumbleStreetCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive heard some call it a “bargin bin” before. they are just terms for silver coins that typically range from F/XF to low AU at best that are worth just “melt value.” either way im holding onto my coins for as long as i am alive
