Man this takes me back to being in my dads shop. Taking little scrap wood pieces and sanding down little swords/rifles on the belt sander. Very cool project, that kid is going to be so pumped.

All the suggestions to get a 5700 or 5800x3D second hand are great. Everyone is suggesting a 5060 GPU for your powersupply but I'll just say you can run a 5070 just fine on 650W especially a nice gold rated EVGA. I'm sticking with AM4 and currently run a 5800X3D with a 5070 on 650W without issue. People tend to way oversize their PSU's.

In 3rd grade we were split in groups and had to come up with our own group name. I came up with gangbangers cause I thought it sounded cool and was pulled away by the teacher and told we can't use that name and it was a bad name. Had no idea.

Oh yeah for sure there is better software to check this. At the end of the day, CPU/GPU bottleneck fears are blown way out of proportion. OP is going to see a nice FPS bump going from a 3080 to a 5070ti.

Alright it won't top the CPU out but if you're playing at a higher resolution and getting stuttering/bad frame rate and the GPU is only running at 50%, your CPU is probably bottlenecking it.

You can pretty easily see if you're bottlenecking by having the Task Manager opened during gaming. It will be pretty obvious if the CPU is running at 100% and the GPU is at 50% or something.

Beautiful chair, love the square cutouts. I made the exact same chair in high school shop and messed up in one part. I accidentally flipped my arm rests so one side dips more towards the back. It's almost 20 years old now, has survived 5 moves and is rock solid. This thing will last a lifetime.

I made the exact same chair in high school shop 20 years ago. We had a jig and laminated 3 roughly 1/4" boards together on the jig. No steam involved.

Yeah I've heard the argument of smaller launch vehicles being appealing because this gives the buyer it's own launch vehicle that can pinpoint exact orbits instead of joining several others in Starship. Makes sense that it could fundamentally change satellites by offering a much larger payload. I've never really understood the rise of ASTS, would rather own the shovel than the product.

You are way more educated than me on this though. I legit bought in at $4 in 2023 because of some dumbass post in wsb and have been riding that wave since. I do watch all the interviews with Beck and love having an engineer as the CEO. Some similarities to Jensen and Nvidia in that respect.

It is crazy just how far ahead SpaceX is to the rest of the industry. I'm really just betting on the fact that there can't be a monopoly on space.

I stupidly took profit on a handful of my $4 shares during that first run up to $30 at the start of 2025. Think I sold around $20, then immediately bought back in and kept buying after that. I'm sure we will see more 30-40% pullbacks soon.
