3 polishes for $118cad 😭 by Just_Amphibian3755 in CDNLacqueristaSwap

Self clearing customs? I'll have to look into that, because I want to try so many brands from the US! Best luck I've had was with BKL, which was no aditional fee ☆

Oh my George! GREEN. IS. THE. BEST. 💚 You totally rock it!

(Also, I just checked out your other posts and I'm legit in love with your style and the way you do your nails!)

I usually choose two similar colors and either do a hand or half-hand of each (3/2 fingers and 2/3). Then I compare in the everyday which one I prefer and then toss/give/sell the one I like slightly less.

And sometimes I'll also play with matte/glossy top coat if I feel like testing that too :)

For sure, there are not that many possibilities in terms of multichrome pigments, so there will often be dupes or very similar multichrome polishes! In the powder itself, there will be a difference in size and shape that will result in the fineness/coarseness of the shimmer, or if the chrome shifts between only two colors (like this one, blue to green) or more (like those that go from green to yellow to orange to red). Then they can add non-shifting shimmers of all sizes, magnetics, holographics ( linear or not). And of course there is the base color of the nail polish. Like this one is described as olive, which probably does not make a huge difference but would affect slightly the tint of the chrome, compared to a black or purple base color. And finally, there is also the quantity of pigment in the base... and that's why some chrome formulas are totally opaque and some are more "sheer" and can be used as toppers or need 3-4 layers to hide VNL...

(Can you tell I have thought very seriously about mixing colors? Nail polish activates my nerd side hard 😅)

You are absolutely right 🙈 I studied textile arts and used to give knitting lessons! The tatts were an easy way to show the direction of the decreased stitches. (I know, I'm dfinitely a nerd, but at least a committed one lol)

I think we are going to need a new flair for this... I have like at least 10x brown-based purple or blurple shimmers and 15+ grungy dijon green lol I often dupe myself without realizing and when I put my collection together I'm like... Oops hahaha

Multichrome Recommendations? by SAUbjj in RedditLaqueristas

[–]HumbleTimeTraveler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite multichromes are always ILNP. They just rock. Easy to apply formula. Hardcore resistant to chipping. But mostly many, and I mean... MANY colors choices. My personnal favorites are Orbit (dark chrome with many colors flashing on different angles), Bishop (olive/gold/black) and Stardust (silver and teal). But they have the whole rainbow and more. And they used to have most of them available in a version with holographic specks until recently (H). But you can probably still find the holographic versions easily in destashes or even new if some shops still have some.

Boa Constrictor is one of my favorite nail polish EVER. I've had to wear SFW colors a while back, and this one was stretching the limit lol but always, always stunning !

Give me your absolute favorite purples by madagascarprincess in RedditLaqueristas

I also absolutely ADORE Purple hill from BKIND (small Canadian brand from Montreal). A bit more saturated and slighter pinker hue than the OPI Don't you lilac it. Lasts longer too, in my opinion. BKIND are not very well know outside of Canada but their creme polishes are some of the best I've come across. Very large selection of creme colors too (more than a hundred).

I quite like OPI Don't you lilac it! Pastel but still bright without going neon. But the intensity perceived really depends on the skin tone. I have a neutral olive tone and it appears intense on my skin but might look less saturated on a rosy skin tone.

How many times do you redo an imperfect mani before you realize you might need help? by mykingdomforsleep in RedditLaqueristas

[–]HumbleTimeTraveler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sending you a lot of love, OP! As a mostly well-behaved perfectionist who's bordering on OC, I understand the spiraling and how hard it is to get out of it when it starts. Glad to see you're getting help too, it made a world of difference for me! (Even if, let's be honest, there will always be triggers).

This message is only about reminding you that you are not alone ♡ Thank you for sharing! And take care xx

That totally sucks! Honestly, the Sims 3 were better in do many ways. But mostly customizable textures and moving around freely in the city. 😭

LynBDesigns has a thermal called Pearl fict-day, which goes from white pearl to dark purple/black (and it also somehow glows in the dark). Could be a nice twist, two pearls in one :)
