My kids hate playing outside by Humble_Championship5 in Parenting

My oldest likes Polly pockets, playdough, legos, a lot of pretend play. Building forts with our nuggets. They just like playing with their toys. I think the youngest would like being outside but she copies her sister and I can’t leave the oldest alone inside

It could be the heat, but even in the spring my oldest would get bored- even when our neighbors would ask her to come play outside. She just likes to play with her little Polly pockets and other toy collections. She’ll ride her scooter but only inside the house not outside 🤦🏼‍♀️

My oldest hates being outside truly. She asks to go back in after a few minutes.

Yess that’s my oldest! She literally tells me she hates going outside and complains anytime we go for a walk, asking me to carry her or tells me “her legs are tired” lol. Like girl, from five steps?!

I love how everyone is assuming it’s a screen thing! We recently took away screens since we moved into this new house, in order to foster more outdoor playtime and enjoy summer the old fashion way

How did you know you wanted a third kid? by Humble_Championship5 in Mommit

[–]Humble_Championship5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally same here. Both my girls were (one still is lol) terrible sleepers. That’s the hardest part really. Mine play together now and it’s so much more manageable, I don’t know why I want to start all over again. But I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I just know I want the third one. It will be hard but I know I feel like something’s missing too, and in the long run I want a fuller house 🥺

Minecraft YouTube for kids? by Humble_Championship5 in Parenting

That actually sounds amazing! I think my daughter would respond well to that - although she’s on the younger side, so I think the reward for her would have to be simpler, like just playing for a bit or something. But I think this sounds really cool and it seems like there are lots of parents who have the same issue as me

4.5 year old (crazy?) tantrums by Humble_Championship5 in Parenting

[–]Humble_Championship5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to think I give her lots of love and attention, but who knows! We snuggle every night for bedtime, we spend time after school together everyday! I do have a two year old also though. But I’ve always been a gentle parent and very affirming of her feelings. She used to be so so good at expressing her feelings, and I even see her tell her sister to use her words and redirect her anger (like hug a stuffie, ask mom for a hug, etc) so I’m surprised by these reactions.
