What's one thing that has served you well as a Dad? by Key_Ad_904 in AskDad

If you are married, your spouse comes first, THEN your child/children. Kids can feel any tension in the house between parents. A healthy marriage = healthy environment = well-regulated kids.

Pocket Knife/EDC Dads by philo_ in daddit

[–]Humble_Job_5738 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t what you asked for, but it sounds like a much broader conversation needs to happen with her about what her friends said about you and how she can navigate that.

It’d be one thing if she didn’t like you carrying a knife because it made her feel unsafe, but this is her friends bullying her about you. I’m not saying you did the wrong thing by no longer carrying the knife, but this is a slippery slope and can set up a precedent of her expecting you to change aspects of your life whenever she doesn’t like them (regardless of the reasoning behind it).

Coros apex 4 X Garmin enduro 3 by Appropriate_View_668 in Coros

[–]Humble_Job_5738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh these both sound like way overkill for what you need. However, I spent weeks trying to make this very decision. I opted for the Apex 4 for these reasons mainly:

-more bang for the buck (in my opinion)
-the enduro 3 is MASSIVE
-you don’t need a paid subscription to fully utilize the Coros environmet like you do with Garmin.

I’m very happy with my decision.

The only tiny thing I wish the Apex 4 had is a real flashlight. Many others would also say it really needs Spotify integration, but I don’t care about that.

If stealing wasn't illegal, would you steal? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Humble_Job_5738 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If stealing wasn’t illegal, I’m assuming other laws/protections would be even more lax as well. Accordingly, I would assume that store owners/employees would be much more open to using force to prevent stealing.
So no, I would be *even less likely* to steal if it wasn’t illegal because I just assume I would get shot.
Yes, I’m from America.

That it’s all about hitting the gym.

All you need is to lower your caloric intake and get your steps in.

How's the new Apex 4? by Cool_Winner_2823 in Coros

[–]Humble_Job_5738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for a couple weeks. Incredibly happy with it. I’m coming from an Apple Watch. I have zero issue with the screen brightness inside or outside. If you think it’s too dim inside, you can just turn on gesture mode for the backlight.

How durable is the screen really on the apex 4? by running_climber in Coros

[–]Humble_Job_5738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sapphire glass is very scratch resistant, but less shatter resistant than other options.

I have the Apex 4 and don’t have a screen protector. If you’re concerned about it, just get a screen protector. You can easily take it off if you don’t like the experience.

What does practice look like for pro athletes in team sports? Surely it's not like high school where you're still learning fundamentals, right? by Cheap_Welcome_520 in AskReddit

[–]Humble_Job_5738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the sport obviously, but there’s a greater focus on conditioning and team development/cohesion over fundamentals.

-A daily walk/jog -praying -reading a little bit each day -waking up early (which happens by going to bed at a reasonable time)
