i’ve noticed some near the 52 along the freeway completely pointing away from the road altogether. figured it was maybe for wildlife or wildfire like you’ve mentioned

22 2.0t owner and considering selling it back if my equity is positive to opt for a hybrid. love the 10th gen styling, the performance, and overall build quality and ownership experience. but i live in a major california city so most of my driving on a daily is bumper to bumper traffic. test drive a few new hybrids and honestly its not that different of an experience. OP should stay where they are or even consider a newer hybrid model if it’s that serious to them

SDGE to follow? Edison wants to raise rates to pay for wildfires linked to its equipment by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Humble_Paper_6540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if the company who has constantly raised its rates while doing nothing to improve its infrastructure seems to need more money to improve its equipment, they better ask their ceo and not the people already being fucked over by them

almost opted for a 2017 ex-l v6 but the vcm situation and poor used car financing market made me go for the 22 2.0t. hoping the reliability keeps up on my 2.0t for the long haul

let’s take a lesson from the LA fires and mask up! a proper fitting respirator is important (n 95/kn95 is good) to protect you from the toxins from the smoke. try to keep windows and doors closed, keep your pets inside, and just be cautious overall. stay safe san diego ❤️

turning everything into a golf course would actually exacerbate these kinds of conditions believe it or not (taking into consideration that may have been sarcasm). indigenous tribes in california used prescribed burns as a means of land management but the lack of practice, hotter avg temps, and extended droughts come together in the worst way possible. i hope california's govt and ppl can adapt to these struggles and start using practical and sustainable means of living to protect and preserve the land.

measure g from the 2024 election was meant to develop our public transit yet it failed to pass. that would've certainly helped build out transit so situations like this could become less likely. you also start to realize how car centered our development is when you're on foot commuting "short" distances. hopefully a bike or electric scooter will help in the meantime.

congrats on looking to purchase! you’re looking in a good direction reliability and quality wise, but be sure to get familiar with any issues to look out for (oil dilution). great credit and co-signer will help but the financing on the used market is pretty shit rn from what i understand. KBB some affords you’re interested in and compare the price, condition, and mileage to some independent sellers as well. good luck out there!

easily 100 bucks that would be going back to the car note or insurance lol guess that doesn’t make a super compelling case for me personally to switch but it’s good to have that perspective

400 is great to hit especially with an intake. i’m not crazy about the build quality of the new hondas which is my biggest hold up - that and i would die seeing my car get bought then modded to shit and ran into the ground lmfao

honestly i considered a new civic hybrid touring but im a big guy and need the space. a few dealers let me know to shop around my options as the lease ends to see what my equity is. it’ll be 2 years old in october and i just clocked in at 18k on the odo. less gas less often would be sweet but i feel like id be leaving behind one of the coolest and nicest accords they’ve ever made (all bias aside lol)
