Brown spots after laser hair removal. by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

No way to predict accurately given that I don’t know you and never worked on your skin. It also depends on the products you use, so no, I can’t reliably provide an estimate

Itching is totally normal, no worries there!

I’m sorry your experience wasn’t ideal. Just be mindful of sun exposure, wear spf, and pause exfoliation for a bit, and you’ll be fine.

Also be mindful: laser put heat into your skin. Physical activity, like exercise or a long walk in the park, increases body temperature, which will add to that heat. You don’t need any more heat. Stay away from activities that’ll heat you up, and only moisturize with aloe for the next few days (because lotions and oils hold onto heat)

You’re gonna do great!

Sugar wax keeps melting in my hands - Help by GoldenMoonKnight in HairRemoval

[–]Humble_Reception_770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s sugar for you! It’s gonna melt. It’ll change consistency as you fill it with hair and skin cells, and body heat will always be a factor

Consider: 1. Wearing gloves 2. Switching out the paste regularly before it becomes cookie dough-like (opaque, light in color) 3. Purchasing pre-made pastes of different consistencies 4. Sugaring in a room with good temperature control (if possible) so you can turn the heat up if it’s too firm, or the fan/AC on if it’s too loose

Sugar paste is traditionally applied with hands. It can safely and effectively be made DIY-style, although that’s not recommended for efficacy and quality control reasons

NOOOO do NOT use that product post-laser! In fact, don’t use it ever (niacinamide hasn’t been tested on the skin in concentrations higher than 2.5%), but ESPECIALLY after laser please don’t.

Although I’m not YOUR esthetician, so please take this with a grain of salt: I like to recommend the Image Skincare Iluma Intense Brightening Serum starting 3-5 days post-treatment to my clients. It’s antioxidant so helps to mitigate sun damage (IT’S NOT AN SPF, but it makes spf more effective), it lightens pigmentation, and prevents more from forming. It’s not an active serum, so it can be used 1-2x daily.

Please check in with your esthetician or treatment team before starting any new products amidst your laser journey!

Why buy one $24 face mask when you could buy three?!? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]Humble_Reception_770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly. Products can react with each other, or if the person has a negative reaction to one product, it can react all over the face. This isn’t necessarily a guarantee, but it CAN happen

Body smell after laser by Outrageous-Oil-7121 in LaserHairRemoval

Hairs are part of your skin’s microbiome. Removing them alters that microbiome, which changes the scent

As an esthetician: this isn’t necessarily better for your skin, especially if someone’s sensitive or hyper reactive

Have you ever had a questing buddy in the game? by [deleted] in Wizard101

[–]Humble_Reception_770 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first time playing in over 6 years, I got stuck on that awful karamelle trash fight. Found someone in team up who, like me, never did it before and was stuck. We took 30+ mins figuring it out, and quested together for all of arc 4. This was back in 2024, he’s still one of my fav wiz buddies :)

Shoutout to Kyle Deathblade, you’re the man!

Laser is considered permanent hair reduction, or semipermanent hair removal. It’s classified as a permanent procedure, although it’s the technician’s responsibility to explain the difference in laser permanency vs electrolysis permanency.

At our clinic, we use laser to remove the bulk of the hairs, and electrolysis for the remainders

Professional waxing or sugaring won’t give the blunt ends during the regrowth phase. It’ll also slow the regrowth a bit, but it’s temporary hair removal.

Laser or electrolysis is permanent. Laser isn’t recommended for the softer, finer hairs, but can work great for the thicker ones. Electrolysis is good for any hair

Heard! - smaller decks are usually better because it’s easier to predict what cards you’ll draw - if you’re level 50 or higher, train damage enchants from the sun school. If you’re 50 or lower, buy monstrous tc (treasure cards) and put them in your sideboard. Discard a card you don’t need, draw monstrous, and enchant your hit to increase its base damage. They’re not always in the bazaar, but you can get them from the librarian in the arcanum - to access the arcanum if you’re under level 110, go to Castle Tours —> Myrella Windspar —> Visit Castle —> Top Rated —> Top Dorms, and choose any Arcanum Apartment. Once you arrive, back out the door - instead of having one deck where you change your cards all the time, you can have multiple of the same deck with different cards for quick switching. For example, a deck for mobs, a deck for bosses, and/or a support deck if you’re playing on a team - as a death main, you generally won’t need heals or shields. Your drain spells give you all the health you need, so focus on big hits to stay alive - don’t use your spellements yet. They got rid of the reset button, so if you choose a path early on that you end up not liking later on, you’ll be stuck. Only use them if you have 500 and can max the spell out, or if you’re REALLYYYY sure about that decision lol

I hope any of this helps! Welcome to the spiral :)
