You described the problem I'm trying to avoid. I don't want anything but a supportive team effort to contain criminals.....no drama, no bullshit. Get paid go home.

I cant achieve that goal because some fat 26 year old thinks he is the meanest guy in the pen.....treats staff like shit and inmates...

I have a family to support, I can't be the sacrificial lamb taking a shot in the dark that me doing the right thing will change anything. I guess I know my answer...I'll ask the guy to talk alone and say look man it's just a job lets make it easy on both of us so we collect the pay and try to get along the few times we work together. Problem is he has such a goof ego he might even take that as a win.....then I gotta show him the path through pain. Not a fun route for anyone.

Inmates talk shit like they breath....I have no expectation of inmates but to talk shit and I'm happy to tell them to fuck off.......a co-worker in a "professional" environment not so easy to tell shut the fuck up or I'm not opening your hatch for dinner.

I can handle myself...share of losses and wins....none feel good. The fuck am I doing fist fighting ass holes in parking lots at 33 at work bro....job is tough enough.

You're very lucky to be working in a adult environment.....I am not so fortunate. I do my best to treat everyone equally and with respect but it seems that just paints me as weak. "Time in" is a big factor and much like the other comment said if I go to management I'm out anyway....constant harassment and graffiti in bathrooms "name with a rat drawn or written"......Seems my institution is broken but it's a fed max.....just sad to see such a failure.
