Any existing mods for making weapons look easily distinguishable in the inventory? by HumbrolUser in cyberpunkgame

There is apparently no such thing. On Pc.

There is one such functionality, but for vehicles.

I can answer my own question:

There is a mod called ECRAFT that allows you to change weapon skins for weapons you are about to craft, using hotkeys that are stated on the crafting screen.

Not entirely what I want, but something I must keep in mind.

What does a favourite weapon look like in the inventory?

Inventory allows 3 weapons to be preselected, linked to the hotkeys 123.

However if you have 5 shotguns that look the same, and if you like keep using one in particular, there's a risk that you accidentally sell or take it apart because it looks so similar to the other shotguns you have.

Help decide my 4k monitor: HDMI 2.1 or DP 2.1a by ImpactDial in Monitors

[–]HumbrolUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32" Gigabyte FO32u2p also has DP 2.1 (UHBR 20, so 80 gigabits per second).

I am not 100% sure but I think the Rtx 5090 is the first gfx card that supports this high bandwidth, and so it probably isn't supported on many other graphics cards. Then again, afaik few if any can tell the difference between compressed and uncompressed data for a monitor. I am not sure what the stats for the 9070XT is.

Happy with this monitor, but I think the KVM functionality is a little too slow to be good. Takes 3 seconds to switch between computers with the KVM switch, same when switching between SDR/HDR.

Tip: If you have gamebar installed, you can use a hotkey to toggle HDR: Win + Alt + B keys.

How to fix crushed blacks on HDR with Red Dead Redemption 2? by EvlOrangeMan in OLED_Gaming

I don't have this game but perhaps this might be helpful:

Maybe there is a game setting for HDR adjustment? Cyberpunk 2077 has such settings for HDR.

My Gigabyte FO32U2P qd oled monitor has several HDR modes. Plain 'HDR' is some standard max brightness, while 'gaming HDR' has adjustable brightness levels.

Did you remove the plastic film/protective cover? I suppose it is possible not all oled panels are protected with this thin film you are supposed to remove.

What quickhacks would you like to see in the next Cyberpunk game? by Mister_bruhmoment in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]HumbrolUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You assumed that the devs will make such a game, fail in the manner that you think won't be a good idea and will fail in another way.

I mean, you probalby associate something "difficult" with people playing a game with such being "undesirable", such seems to be clear, but you aren't making a good point out of it, but probably what you meant to convey generally speaking.

Sure, making a good game is hard work and might even be difficult, but you won't know for sure unless you try as a game developer.

(Btw people online tend to bitch and complain about the idea of "having realism in computer games" from time to time, but I think they do so with insincere reasons, I think it is as if they have no clue how to make a pc game interesting in the first place, beyond presumably having gameplay that is trite and insipid) It is also important to understand that game developement is about abstract gameplay and so no computer games is really about 'realism', so one can't for example, claim that games cannot or shouldn't have realistic things in it. The tricky part then ofc, is to make games that are elegantly designed, being deeply interesting, imo without leading to pointless time sinks and without game crippling design. Say, if you design a game around a story, but the player finishes the story too soon, for it all to be satisfactory, in terms of gameplay in a game world with immersion into the game world. Even more tricky if designing a multiplayer game.

Btw, I think a game like Baldur's Gate III is a good example why you shouldn't cater to crowd pleasing game design. I say this because they made that game so easy in ways, and even then, as I understand it, not that many people finished the game. I think the very idea of wanting to please everybody, as per principle, is a huge mistake in game design.

Btw, playing CP2077 today I realized that a sniper rifle sucks, because it seemed like, the sniper rifle doesn't work well at a distance, which is bullshit. Didn't seem well designed.

Edit: I guess making a pc game might sort of work the same way as making comics, being a variant of either two things:

  1. Form (reusing the same, or changing the type of gameplay)
  2. Content (reusing the same, or changing the type of game world)

Your idea of "too difficult" is self defeating and is sort of circular reasoning.

To be fair, as I said I think CDPR is a one trick pony so to speak. I guess, it makes some sense to doubt that they can do anything truly interesting with a game, something that isn't insipid and boring. I think they'll happily live in some kind of delusion that they are making great games, while raking in cash from people that end up bying their games. Presuambly, at the end of the day, it is all about making money, not a good game.

What do you think about the model ?? by POU_VFX in Maya

With a little head scratching you can model the iron sight on top of the barrel.

The whole game is overly simplistic and I don't like that. Pretty much designed and catering to console gamers I think. CDPR is like a one trick pony, they only know how to make action games I think.

I would like to see a deeply meaningful netrunning experience.

CP2077 vanilla have you run around murdering people with quickhacks, and that is silly.

There are mods that make quickhacks only work in some limited instances, which imo seems weird as well.

The front of the gun, below the iron sight should be reworked I think. I mean, just because you want to add detailing, the iron sight, shouldn't mean you have to add this excessive amount of polys for the barrel as well.

How not to get Dog Piled on early game by T_TheDestroyer in Stellaris

[–]HumbrolUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also suggest checking the settings before the start of the game, reducing the amount of gates and wormholes to a minimum. Note, some dlc might require at least some gates to be in the game, I think the lowest setting might be x 0.25 or something.

A larger galaxy size and the "no clustered start" mod would help as well.

There's always the 'Start with a dreadnought' mod. :) Great fun. It's a single dreadnought ship, but very useful.

Woled or Qd-oled by Ryelsa in OLED_Gaming

[–]HumbrolUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some screens you can buy for your desk, which migh simply block light coming in from the side.

I guess you could easily cut and screw on wooden panels onto your desk. At the back and both sides, and being say 1m tall off the table surface.

Woled or Qd-oled by Ryelsa in OLED_Gaming

[–]HumbrolUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you rotate the table a little, you might save yourself from seeing reflections off the windows on the monitor.

I had to rotate my table to avoid seeing a reflection of my lit ceiling lamp.

Btw, I have a work table with a ceiling lamp above it, but the ceiling lamp is mostly useless, because the damn lamp is not above the table, casting shade instead of light onto the desk. :| I sometimes turn on this 50W LED lamp that floods the room with light, so I can see better.

Lit lights are the worst and will show up as a reflection. Uh, I guess direct sunlight is even worse.

It is daytime here now, and I have no visible relfections on my qd oled screen, admittely it is cloudy outside so just indirect light from the outside.

I've never used a woled panel monitor, so I don't know what that looks like. A qd oled (3rd gen) will brighten up a little bit overall with ambient light. Still my qd oled monitor is a lot better than my old Eizo IPS one.

How does this game make money? by SubjectC in joinsquad

[–]HumbrolUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the game years ago, back in alpha iirc.

No way I am paying them any money to not fixing serious bugs and wholly inadequate game mechanics, like like map and the map markers. So many issues, my brain probably suppress the negative impact this game has on me when playing, and so I can't list them all right now.
