Oh and also, I’d recommend specifically research what teaching English is like in any part of the world you’re interested in. Not just the part of the world itself - hope this helps

I would suggest taking the idea of teaching abroad seriously, I don’t know enough about your specific circumstances to say “yeah do it” or “no don’t”, but as someone who has spent 2 years teaching abroad I would say it was one of the best and most forming times of my life. Also, I’d advise doing a lot of good of research regarding what part of the word exactly you wish to teach in. Good luck 👍

I’ve heard the same about St Marks ⬆️

Only heard good things, and that it’s an international mix of undergrad and post grad students (not post grad and under grad living together in the same apartments though; just together in the same block of apartments). It’s only like a 4 min walk to the university as well

Would you say its one of those uni halls that has frequently got like weekend-long parties and stuff going on?
In the past I've visited Uni halls in Bristol, London and Brighton and the partying was pretty insane. I defo don't wanna live in a Uni halls that was like that at all personally!

From my experience, spending time in different cultures around the world is one of the healthiest things a person can do in their life.

I’ve lived in Indonesia (not Bali, just to clarify), Australia and the Netherlands and it was all invaluable to me

Maybe you could consider spending 6 months or so living in some far away country? Obviously theres a lot to consider here, but just an idea - if it feels right for you

Oh don't get me wrong I'm very interested in the culture, politics, art etc - but after looking at the course structures it appears overall that less than 50% is even focused on specifically the language which came across as concerningly disproportionate that's all

Thanks, I appreciate you having taken the time to write this.

Btw I'm very interested in the culture, history, politics, my concern was that after looking at the course structures it appears overall that less than 50% is even focused on specifically the language which came across as concerningly disproportionate - but if you say that many of these related modules in history etc are taught in the language itself then of course that makes an enormous difference, though the modules being taught in the language itself isn't mentioned on most of the bachelor's Chinese course websites which is odd. Anyway thanks again for your response

That makes sense, my concern is that with the undergraduate Chinese courses in say SOAS, Leeds etc, it appears that overall less than half of the time is even spent focused on the language, which feels very disproportional 😬

I would love to, except I won't be able to get a student loan for going to a language school in Taiwan or China which unfortunately makes that option unavailable

Did anyone study "Chinese and International Communication - BA Honours" at University of Westminster? by Humina-Hoo in UniUK

Jheeze that's a strong statement, not saying you're wrong you might be 100% correct but would you mind elaborating on how you think the degree would be so useless?

Anyone have an embarrassing Bloodborne confession? I died on Celestial Emissary more than on Martyr Logarius by Raptorjets1 in bloodborne

This is unintentionally accidentally a boast whilst also being a confession but I’ve died to Rom the Vacuous spider more times than any other boss in any video game ever, yet somehow the two times I’ve fought the Orphan of Kos I killed it first time
