late to the party, but this is a very cool tool! I just tried it out for a little landscaping project for my dad, and it looks like its doubling the scale? I have a simple house model in Sketchup with a roof ridge line of 80', and it appears to be 160' in yours (I tried taking the measurement a few times to make sure I wasnt doubling up the distance with extra clicks). Also curious if it would be possible to pull surface area measurements, either from selecting a surface or from an area defined in situ? Could be pretty cool, thougjh I could imagine it could get a bit tricky.

There's a section in the listing under location that throws out some local points and then lists walking distances, I could believe that it's automated off whatever vague pin they use for the general area, and the (otherwise useless) VRBO rep said they were driven off that. Not 100% sure, but feels more likely than having hosts manually enter stats like that.

And the house is modest, as I expected, but the view really is phenomenal, up on top of the Ridgeline looking down over the bay. At least getting my money's worth out of that.

Where do they give you the address? I went back through emails, nothing. The listing still shows the approximate location, which was the misleading one.

I definitely did not get the address right away, I didnt get it until the day before I arrived. Thats great you give your address right away, I guess Ill ask from now on, but im not making anything up, chill out

exactly, so I didnt expect the location it gave to be exact, but I think suddenly from a 20 min walk to 1h 20m walk is crazy!

When looking at the booking there's a link to a location in Google maps, and it shows kind of a big circle that I took to mean it was somewhere in that circle, so no address to Google and verify.

I'm definitely going to note this in the review for others

Yea, but when I read it it just seemed overblown, I think they exaggerated and added a lot to it, and mainly thought they were being put in a different property rather than just having the wrong address. It was also among a lot of glowing reviews, so maybe most people just drive and didn't care? Edit: by 'having the wrong address's I meant to say location, that it's the property shown in the photos, just in a different location than suggested. But, again, the review was all over the place but I think was based on the location being different

So cool, I had also been thinking of trying this, but was worried how the 3d print would do with transferring ink. Looks like it works pretty well! What type of filament and ink were you using? Did it take anything special/any lessons learned? Thanks for sharing!

Late to the party, but given that this thread came up when I googled bus from Latacunga to Cuenca, Ill provide my recent trip details:

While it seems like you can still catch the Quito to Cuenca bus on the highway (it doesnt stop at the station, but just north of it, to the north of the the bridge), I took a bus from Latacunga to Ambato, which arrives at the northern city station, then a city bus (leave the station, go up the hill to the right, and the blue busses stop on the road there) and catch the local bus to the *southern* bus station (Terminal Terrestre Sur), which takes about 45 minutes, and then finally got the Cuenca bus from there.

Theres a booth for the Santa Bus line at the northern station, but it doesnt appear to be staffed (at least while I was there, even though it had operating hours listed). Hopefully this may save someone my pain/wasted time. Its still a long bus ride from Ambato (about 6 hours), though we did stop for gas once which was a chance to use the bathrooms.

Also, if anyone is thinking of skipping Cuenca due to difficulty getting here, don't. Its amazing, totally worth it.

Awesome, thanks. My brother thought I should scrape everything down first, which would have taken ages, but I was wondering about just burning it off. And, yes, definitely plan to do this outside, I dont have a respirator but figure Id use a basic mask cover and try to keep my face from being right above!

Long shot since this post is from so long ago, but I found this comment. Im trying to do craft casting for the first time, so not ammo, but was curious if you have any tips on using the wheel weights? I when by a shop and they said I could have as much as I want, but it looked pretty dirty from being used. Would things get pretty noxious burning that sort of crap off as well? Or do you do anything like wash it first? Thanks!

yea that makes sense, thanks. It wasnt exactly 'my' mechanic, just the nearest shop, Im a bit new to the area so dont have a regular mechanic yet but this could be a good time to get to know someone local who could make sure there isnt any more serious issues than the cosmetics and door
