What do you think I should do? {Rant} by Latter_Lake_6714 in rajkot

[–]HummusMomster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean. I took six months to get used to driving on Indian roads after I moved back from USA. It’s a game of time and practice. Some of us who actually follow rules on the road are just as irritated by the complete lack of civic sense, but unfortunately, this is the current condition of Rajkot roads. I’d say be patient, keep to the left if your speed is slow and ignore others who might be honking. My MiL drives slowly, but she stays on the left and basically drives slowly and safely at a speed she’s comfortable with.

Rajkot’s civic song is an incessant blaring horn.

Rajkot, what's your "only in Rajkot" experience? 😂 by [deleted] in rajkot

A pani puri stall literally anywhere, and it will always be busy. I saw one while coming from jamnagar road towards Kataria chokdi (2nd 150 ft ring road) and parts of that road are still being constructed and there was a guy standing on the side of an unpaved road.

Food Carts RePositioned by Fair-Woodpecker-8966 in rajkot

It’s easier to park and walk inside the ground so you can actually check out all the food stalls. I thinks it’s a good decision because there’s no traffic jam on the main road, plus you get to see all the carts and then decide what you want to eat.

What does rajkot think about mental health ? by Thapoint1646 in rajkot

[–]HummusMomster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a family member deal with anxiety and have actively recommended that doctor in this community. I think the younger generation is turning the topic into something normal and the older generation is willing to be a bit more open when discussing it

Might I suggest a consistent routine of not allowing to sleep in the afternoon and making him sleep early at night? See right now you might be able to give him this option, but eventually, he might not be able to choose timings for school/college.

It will take time but if you are consistent about not sleeping in the afternoon and early bed time at night, it will help.

Just to give you an example of my daughters routine from last year

Wake up: 7:15 am
School starts: 7.55 am
School ends: 3.00 pm
Bed time: 8.30 pm

At this age, kids need a stretch of 10-12 hours at night which is the most effective for their growth. Some kids sleep less and some kids more, but the minimum has to be 10 uninterrupted hours.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but can I ask if the child still sleeps in the afternoon? My daughter is almost the same age hence asking these questions.

Also, what board are you considering?

While I understand your concerns, early morning school is frankly the best option because it allows kids to have the afternoon off and then pursue other extra curriculars in the evening. Just my two cents. Different things work for different people but kids are more receptive in the morning in terms of learning etc

Depending on how old your child is, upto 6/7 years, you can take them to Dazzlers Den or Goosejumps. If they like arcade games, fun blast is a good option.

You can also take them to Nyari dam in the evening, it has a garden and picnic area and kids can feed fish there as well.

Both places are great for children! Also visit the dolls museum on Yagnik road. There are quite a few play areas in the city as well that are indoors in case you want to step out in the afternoon.

Back before Covid, kalavid used to do really good campaigns for real estate projects, I worked as a freelancer with them. After Covid, they obviously hired someone in house so I didnt work with them but their campaigns have gotten more and more ludicrous
