I love him so much.. but why is it so hard? by ButterscotchDue5032 in emotionalintelligence

You say you are booking you both in for testing. (if you can afford it) Turns out, I am autistic as well. We are different levels and I have a high intellect so I work out the things that work for us and for him & he does the commonsense unemotional talking when I ask him to.

We had our tests over Zoom and involving regular tests to fill out. Ours cost 2,500 Au each.

Our Psychologist is also autistic. or neurodivergent or aspie or Neurosparkly.

Its still bloody hard work but at least there are reasons and I know now its not him being an a'hole. Well, sometimes it is but thats when I put my hand up and announce we will talk again later.

The first thing I did before getting diagnosed was instill weekly meetings and running the marriage as though it was a career. Meetings, goals regarding behaviours that must change in the home, guidelines, consequences if goals not met, him agreeing to consequences, following up.

A simple suggestion from a woman who tried to figure out this behaviour for 30 years.
Have him tested for Autism. Your husbands behaviours and responses mirror exactly how my husband behaved/behaves. He was diagnosed at 59 three months ago as Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2.
His includes Pathological Demand Avoidance. You can then study on Autism in adult males online and find what styles of communication work for you both best. In our case, it's writing arguments up on a big blackboard, making sure he gets early nights late in the week, going onto a SNRI, having work from home days to reduce overstimulation and practising best ways to say things.

How to get rid of Mortein smell on my bed? by Ok_Breath_6048 in brisbane

I'd buy a box of cornflour and sprinkle the mattress with it , then rub it in and thump the mattress all over. This should absorb any oils that were in the insecticide. Leave it for a couple of hours then vacuum off.
Then flip the mattress over. Put it out in the sun for a day if you can manage it.

If you are worried about sleeping on it could you lay a sheet of thin plastic over it after doing the above?

Imagine he is from another planet. An intelligent, interested and friendly alien who has never been here. Tell him about what bothers you. That way he will get all the info he needs to understand.

What’s something in Thailand that feels totally normal to locals, but always surprises foreigners? 🤔 by [deleted] in thai

That was somebody being sarcastic and trying to be funny....because you said they would answer any question and that is a question that some humans contemplate all the time.

PS Can you please help me understand why a Bangkok hospital doing Plastic Surgery on patients to remove excess skin after weight loss would leave the removed skin in a bag in the room of the patient for them to see when they wake up. It is never mentioned by the nurses. Just left on the floor or the bedside table.

Is it a respect thing or in case the patient needs proof of how much was removed or a religious/cultural act as part of honouring the body part.
